Fast Food Workers Protest Poverty McWages

It is their right to do so. So let them. No need to raise the minimum wage and force companies to over pay unskilled labor.
Maybe, maybe not but that place can't run with out them. If they can get their pound of flesh, more power to them. That's their right. Minimum wage, though is a different debate. Financial workders should be the only people permited to make less than the minimum wage....after all, they are only parasites bleeding profits off the work of others.

Yeah, well they're wrong. They make MORE than a fair wage for what limited skilled they have.

Me three. Any wage would be too high for them, but then they go on welfare and food stamps and we pay them anyway. At least if we keep them in fast food they make burgers for us...even if they are made of horsemeat here and there.

What we should do is use them as a food source.

This attitude of feeling superior to others sickens me. I have never understood why people look down on others because they "flip burgers".

Probably because the only reason they have that job at all is because a burger flipping robot would cost $8.25 an hour. I don't look down in people who do unskilled labor, I just don't think they deserve a raise. Because they don't. They have the same work ability as a five year old.

As I stated, if they can get more, more power to them. But there should not be a minimum wage hike based on the premise of 'unskilled workers need a living wage' nonsense.

It is an unskilled position, meant for teenagers/college kids to get work experience and have a part time job. These jobs are not meant to sustain a family. I do not look down upon them as most people started somewhere to obtain work skills and experience. Many in the food industry. That said, if you have been flipping burgers for 20 years, then I will feel superior to you in regards to work skills.

Because it's an incredibly easy job that takes little to no effort, almost no training and can be done day after by a comatose chimp. I remember doing it and the only problem I had was not falling asleep on the job.

If you were arguing for respect for plumbers or janitors I'd have your side, those guys put up with a lot of dumb nasty stuff and don't get paid enough. But I have no respect for the burger flipping job.

I feel sorry for you.

Some people need that in their lives, to feel superior.

Some people need to be condescending as well.

The non-stop holier than thou crap you and others constantly spew forth must make you feel so good? and maybe even superior?

No, it makes me sad that others don't stop to think that maybe that elderly woman flipping burgers needs the money and the benefits and people look down on her for not being educated enough and too old for other jobs, or that guy doing it is supplementing his other job so his kid can go to soccer camp.

You all just make assumption about others without knowing them and their circumstances in life. It makes me feel sad and sorry that you can not have compassion for others who arent as bright or well educated and you equate them to chimpanzees.
