8th grader suspended and arrested for wearing an NRA t-shirt??

The abusive teacher Jarud. The teacher that caused the so called 'disruption'. The fact that the school principal went along with the teachers abuse.

Where is the information that the teacher was "abusive"?

Candy, face it, you have assumed a LOT in order to take the position you have taken. There is a LOT we do not know in this situation. If the kid was a perfect angel as you are so sure of... you are correct in your argument.

If the kid did something other than wear that shirt, something Obstructive and disruptive, something more than Speech... his arrest was likely lawfull.

I am for the boy being allowed to wear that shirt... I simply am shocked at the pittafull journalism and pittafull way people like you have jumped onto the idea that the kid was arrested for the shirt, that is simply not want the facts say! You have an amazing ability to believe with all your hart things that are not known based on what you want to be true.

Not only that but they're still squealing after I prove the stepfather set it all up to make a statement and admitted to it.

Not only that, but why did the little inbred redneck not even "Like" the NRA on Facebook until the day before all this happened?

I think the dad has too much time on his hands.

The student's father, Allen Lardieri, told KOWK that the shirt didn't violate this policy, nor did his son become aggressive when confronted about it.
"I will go to the ends of the earth, I will call people, I will write letters, I will do everything in the legal realm to make sure this does not happen again," Lardieri said.
I think christiecommunistfan915 is opposed to freedom of expression .... unless it's pornographic in nature, of course. ;)

THIS is abuse, you insufferable idiot.

Wearing a shirt like this is not abuse.

navolochka_iz_futbolki_IloveNY_2.jpg

You people have completely lost your minds.

There are all kinds and degrees of abuse, idiot....you don't have to be beaten to a pulp to suffer abuse....you've heard of verbal abuse haven't you
You've heard of mental abuse haven't you.....so get off you insufferable high horse and moral pedestal....it ain't gonna fly here.....

You only disagree with us because you're still that high-minded partisan fool that wouldn't agree no matter how wrong you're shown to be.....
Maybe to you wearing a shirt inside out is just fine, thats irrelevant, you ain't him, in front of his classmate peers.....demanding he remove it or wear it inside out is
degrading......trying to make him feel like a fool degrading....trying to paint him as some kind of lunatic is abuse......having him arrested over nothing is abuse.....

You know I'm right on all counts but just can't allow yourself to admit it.....agreeing with a conservative is the ultimate no-no for you and your idiot comrades.

Its as ridiculous as scolding a 6 year old for a gun shaped cookie, or a paper torn into something that remotely resembles a gun, or cookies baked like soldiers....
or pointing your finger resembling a gun.......
you people are the ones that have completely lost you minds......kids tell teachers to kiss their asses and don't get arrested for it or expelled....and they should.

If we find out that the kid was less than calm and respectful during all this, I'll be first one to agree with the arrest or whatever you want to call it....
but that will not change the fact that his wearing the shirt was totally within his rights.

So telling a little shit to take his shirt off and turn it inside out is "abuse"?

lol...Bravo. You're such a sissy!

You're not right. You just need to have the last word. Everyday I hear about incidents in school where a student is made to do something he doesn't want. The administrators set the policy, not the kids.

I helped one of my kids and his friends get the school to allow them to form a certain club. At first the school denied their request. So we went through channels that included school board meetings, and some of the board members were also against the club. The kids laid out their ideas in a respectful fashion, and answered questions from the board. When the vote came, the measure passed by a majority.

The kids didn't cry and moan and stamp their feet the first time they were denied. They didn't call the media and demand their rights. They learned how to use the system to get what they wanted. Marcum could have done the same. He got 100 of his friends to wear the shirt to school days later without incident. Instead his glory hound father blew up an internal incident and thrust it into the national spotlight. I have no sympathy for either of them.

And no, moron, he was not abused.

So you never hear of mental abuse or verbal abuse ?....You were there to decide there was no abuse ?

More strawman bullshit....this isn't about a forming a school club....this is about the immediate demand that a kid wear his clothes inside out and getting the
police involved......

if your kid was told to walk around barefoot, would you say he should comply until Mommy gets there to do her fact finding.....?

If a teacher demands your kid eat the lunch the school provides, should he or she eat it and then complain later to you so you can check it out ?

If the kids parents were called instead of the police, this might have been cleared up without any hassle....this teacher used her position of power to
push her political agenda against the NRA.....its that simple.

Its nonsense that a picture of gun is treated like its a picture of a slave hanging from a tree or a naked pair having explicit sex......some things are disruptive
and offensive.....some are just simply are not....and I think its the picture of the gun that is at the crux of this entire thing......

I repeat....Its as ridiculous as scolding a 6 year old for a gun shaped cookie, or a paper torn into something that remotely resembles a gun, or cookies baked like soldiers....
you people are the ones that have completely lost you minds...your reactionary in the extreme....you lack common sense and perspective, in politics, on issues, and
in dealing with reality in general. In closing, I'll say the school will prevail in this case, they are the reactionaries and make the rules at this particular
moment in time.....the silent majority is just too meek to cause a ruckus over a t-shirt, they always are....
And as O'Reilly says .....I'll give you the last word.

Were the police called? Was he on sight? I haven't read the full account, because I believe all stories about this are vague and are originating from one side at this time.

Good. See below. And, just out of curiosity, where did it say the teacher was a woman?

"In February, a 14-year-old boy in Genoa, Ill., was told to remove his T-shirt in support of the U.S. Marines, primarily because the shirt featured two intersecting rifles; the youth avoided suspension by turning the shirt inside out.

On May 5, 2010, five students were kicked off the grounds of a high school in Morgan Hill, Calif., for wearing T-shirts emblazoned with the American flag, presumably in an attempt to irritate Mexican-American students on the Mexican holiday known as Cinco de Mayo.

And remember Bretton Barber? Way back in 2003, the high-schooler in Dearborn, Mich., was sent home from school for wearing a T-shirt with a picture of then-president George W. Bush and the words “International Terrorist.

If I said that, I certainly mis-spoke....the teacher was a male...the band teacher. Am I supposed to comment on the other incidents ? I'll pass
==============================

Marcum was suspended from school for one day. This morning, he returned to school wearing the same t-shirt, White said.

White (his lawyer) accompanied Marcum and his stepfather to a meeting at the school, where the principal, according to White, said that she "hates that it happened" to Marcum.

Logan County students wore NRA t-shirts today in solidarity with Marcum, White said, adding that Marcum is an honor roll student eyeing a career in the military. Zigmond did not mention any disciplinary action during school today.

White is confident that all of the evidence will work in the teenager's favor.

"There's no evidence that Jared almost caused a riot," he said. "They won't be able to produce any evidence to that fact. ... The teacher should have the ability to debate things with students. I don't care how you slice it. ... It was the teacher not acting like an adult. He created the issue."

“When the police came, I was still talking and telling them that this was wrong, that they cannot do this, it’s not against any school policy. The officer, he told me to sit down and be quiet. I said, `No, I’m exercising my right to free speech.’ I said it calmly.”

This is probably what prompted the "arrest'....he refused to remain silent...seems he understands his 1st Amendment rights too....

yet a fourth grader gets celebrity status on yahoo for writing an open letter about gay marriage.

I do celebrate that, as well as the kid in the OP wearing an NRA/2nd amendment shirt.

People are WAY too afraid of opposing opinions in this country. When a lot of people hear something they don't like, they'd rather just shut it down than offer a counter-argument or opinion.

Kind of a bummer.

I'd support the right of an idiot wearing a Brady T-shirt, I'd support the right of the kid to wear an NRA t-shirt. The idea that this kid could be arrested for it, kicked out of school, all because of one teacher who felt his authority weakened by this kid's rights...

Absolutely I'd go "overboard" protecting my child from having their rights torn from them by dictating idiots whether "left" or "right"...

It's about respect. What I don't like is a snippy kid mouthing off to an adult because his dumb parent filled his head that he was so special, he could do what he wanted. You think the kid wasn't brainwashed by his parent to spout off like that?

I already said my own kid wore an NRA shirt to school. If the teacher told him to turn it inside out, I'd have expected him to do so because he was a child in an environment where he's required to do as he's told. If he came home and complained, I'd tell him it's his responsibility to listen to the adults in charge no matter how much he hated it.

You gun nuts crack me up, the way you freaked out over this. The dad's going to "pursue a legal remedy"; just what we need, another asshole clogging up the legal system with a frivolous lawsuit. Righties complain constantly about the so-called liberal indoctrination in the schools and how kids get away with murder, yet here you all are, screaming bloody murder over a t-shirt. Christ on a crutch, you guys are freaking unbelievable.

Absolutely not. "Respect" does run both ways and rights are rights regardless of the amount of disrespect you hope your child will swallow because the great gods of Authority told them to swallow....

Seriously, this is lunacy. I teach my kid not to fight, unless attacked. I teach my kid to follow the rules and if you aren't then you face the consequences, and lastly I teach my kid to stand up for what is right, even if the Great God of Authority is telling her to do what they know to be wrong.

If the rules allowed for this shirt I'd be more proud of my child for standing up for what is right than I ever would be for them coming home with an inside out shirt because they quietly acquiesced to authority when they were wrong.

this

this is why america is a great country. if this was russia, the kid would have burned the shirt for fear of the state police.

Show me proof he was arrested for wearing the t-shirt, thanks.

I tell my children to comply with the police. I tell them it is the best course of action, then if necessary our lawyer can sort it out. I don't think it is a good idea for children to defy a policeman in their line of duty.
