FTR Grind doesn't apologize for or minimize rape. In fact if memory serves he was the one who had to put you back in your place when you started nattering on about the Steubinville rape being just some hazing nothing unusual here. Which is what I think really sticks in your craw!

Yes, I compared it to hazing and also pointed out that people die from hazing stunts but again you've forgotten to mention that. I can assure you that if this rape victim was a man -- he wouldn't be jailed.
However in the Arab world; being a woman is a totally different story, and you barely have any rights.

Here's a long article about it. I've read numerous similar articles and Diallo's past was put on trial but S-K's wasn't. That's completely unfair. The article was written two years ago and later Diallo did win a civil lawsuit against S-K. I'm angry that somebody rich and powerful can do what he wants and when it's illegal, pay an army of lawyers to get his criminal charges dropped. There was DNA in the room and marks of physical assault on Diallo's body. Furthermore, Diallo was a victim of FGM and I hardly believe she'd welcome a random sexual encounter, when it actually occurred she didn't even know who S-K was.

I don't doubt for one moment that he is an arrogant so and so, he is a French politician so it goes with the territory. What I find hard to understand though is how anybody can get a woman to give them BJ unwillingly unless they had a gun pointed at her, especially in a hotel where there are many other people. All she would have to do to stop it was to bite hard and run. That struck me at the time and I haven't seen anything to say otherwise, that and the fact there that there were no witnesses As for rich and powerful people using their wealth that's nothing new, as OJ Simpson and many others amply demonstrate.
