Judge declares PA voter ID law is invalid

its obvious why Democrats oppose photo ID....they're afraid that it will allow someone to actually obtain the evidence they proclaim isn't available......

Many photo regulations were put into effect after 9/11 because of that piece of shit "Patriot" Act that people like you supported. Using banks as an example,

USA PATRIOT Act Section 326
Customer Identification Program (CIP) Joint Final Rule

To verify the identity of an individual, a CIP may look to unexpired government-issued
identification evidencing nationality or residence and bearing a photograph or similar safeguard.
The Joint Final Rule specifically includes driver’s licenses and passports as documents that
would meet this definition.
While the new rule does not require financial institutions to determine
whether a document has been validly issued, the apparent authenticity of a document will affect
whether the bank can form a “reasonable belief” that it knows the customer’s true identity.

How do you know that a person holding a photo ID card didn't just get the name off a 150-year old tombstone, for that matter?

a person holding a photo ID may have gotten the name off a 150 year old tombstone....but, if they did, its not going to match the voter registration of the person who proved they were qualified to vote.....thus, we will have prevented an unqualified person from voting......

????.....the constitution provides that only citizens may vote.....common sense tells us that if we don't know who the person in the voting booth is, we have no idea if she is a citizen......

 If you're suspicious of everyone who turns out to vote, no form of ID is going to make you feel safe. What if a person has a photo ID that matches his face but the other information on the card is bogus?

I believe there's a thriving underground industry of providing false IDs such as passports, SSNs and other official papers, so there's absolutely no foolproof way of determining who is or isn't "legal". Perhaps even you had one of them if you went to bars when you were underage.

Do you posses an ID with your photo on it?

And to make it more clear, I joined the ranks of drivers, students and Costco shoppers and am subject to the regulations of those groups. But the Constitution says my right to vote can't be denied or abridged.

  • 15th Amendment (1870): "The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude."
  • 19th Amendment (1920): "The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex."
  • 23rd Amendment (1961): provides that residents of the District of Columbia can vote for the President and Vice President.
  • 24th Amendment (1964): "The right of citizens of the United States to vote in any primary or other election for President or Vice President, for electors for President or Vice President, or for Senator or Representative in Congress, shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any State by reason of failure to pay any poll tax or other tax."
  • 26th Amendment (1971): "The right of citizens of the United States, who are eighteen years of age or older, to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of age."

States make voter regulations. There is nothing in the Constitution that prevents them from requiring photo ID to vote. Suck on it.
