Fluke for Congress

Wrong. She said "Without insurance coverage, contraception can cost a woman over $3,000 during law school." Law school is three years, therefore the annual cost would be $1,000.

$200 will get you about 300 condoms, could you
make 300 last a whole semester....???
And you get STD protection as a bonus....

And what? You asked if the average annual cost is $1,000 annually and I gave you a range, with the most expensive pill costing $80/month ($960 annually).

Every honey doesn't need to drive a Cadillac...stick with the old tried and true condom....

If women can't afford a prescription, they can go to a lower-cost alternative, or they can abstain. That costs nothing.

Why should a womans' contraception be paid for by health insurance if the institution has a religious objection?

These particular few posts are about cost and that's what I was addressing, not religious objections.

That would be great if all women were shaped by the same cookie cutter. Damn those genetic differences.

A law student could consume $3000 worth of Red Bull before graduating.

I don't think that should be paid for by insurance either.

Is contraception generally medically necessary?

Differentiate between using the pill to prevent a birth v. to treat a medical problem.

Contraception is medically necessary for both, the question you're dancing around is whether sexually-active students should get it. Furthermore, there would be a co-pay with insurance so nobody's getting something for nothing.

Do you think it's realistic to think that adults in school aren't going to have sex?

Dodged the question, I see.

So you don't think they should get free contraception provided by Obamacare?

I didn't dodge anything because I don't know of any schools that pass out condoms. And I also don't think contraception under Obamacare is free, there would still be a co-pay.

Of course you don't. Yet lots do.

Here's a little tidbit closer to home for you: http://www.pittnews.com/news/article_66465b73-f799-5619-8ed9-058371a5a208.html?TNNoMobile

Of course you don't. How much is the Obamacare co-pay for a contraceptive that costs $9@ month at Target and Wal-Mart? How much is it for subsidized covereds?

You seem remarkably ill-informed on the subject, don't you?

Not impossible, improbable. Whaddya think the nuns taught, free love? They told us we'd go to hell in a handbasket.

Last time I checked, I'm not responsible for what Catholics believe. I figured you'd know.

If adults engage in behaviors that could have preventable consequences, is $9 @ month an unreasonable expense?

I have insurance through the workplace so why would I care about prices under Obamacare?
