No, you can't use foundation money to pay off settlements

Please let it be enough to impeach him. Who's drafting the articles of impeachment? Tell them to hurry up. If this economy keeps zooming along it's going to be tough to keep him from being popular with the people who have seen their lives improve.

Remember that God answers all prayers; but sometimes the answer is NO. :D

It's against the law, and now the NYAG is suing to dissolve Trump's personal piggy bank while recommending a criminal investigation in a letter to the DOJ and IRS. That letter is calling for the release of the tax returns...the same ones Trump refused to release in 2016.

There's a document of Trump's signature, personally ordering the use of $100,000 from Trump Foundation to settle a legal issue for his private club Mar-A-Lago. That's against the law.

The part about using the charity to raise money for veterans being illegal because he was running for office is tenuous at best.

WAPO has looked at it, but it's a chump change kind of thing for a billionaire.

There is also a IG investigation into the Clinton Foundation in progress

Right. Just "chump change." So what difference does it make?

You've got your nose so far up Dear Leader's ass...it is amazing you have not suffocated.

It's the timing of the disbursements that's problematic. Lewandowsky coordinated with the foundation to release money to specific organizations during a campaign stop just before the primaries.

Trump knew what he was doing was illegal and continued to break the law.... WHY? Doesn't he have enough money? Perhaps he lied about his wealth.

Clinton Foundation has already been investigated. Its clean.

Yes, they are asking for a criminal investigation into the matter.

Asking for and getting are two different things.

I don't think Trump will have any trouble defending against a case and investigation perpetrated buy a disgraced pervert, and wife-beater. Do you?

Oh, I think it will happen and didn’t he resign? So, it won’t be him prosecuting the case.

Maybe Trump isn't a billionaire.. Why would he knowingly break the law when he had already been warned?

Clinton Foundation is clean.. Public Operational Charities are transparent.

I guess we'll have to wait and see. And yes, he resigned. You don't think the fact that he was a major scumbag will be of any use in any defense?

Also, if these alleged violations occurred over a ten-year period, why is this just being brought forth now? Answer, Witch Hunt.

Trump’s team may try to use the defense, but it won’t make any difference if the evidence shows criminal activity.
Trump ran for office, when you do that you draw attention to yourself by top notch investigators like Farenholdt.

IIRC a lot of people were bent out of shape because he didn't disburse the money he raised fast enough. I have read conflicting reports factually about who chose the beneficiaries, one saying the campaign did and the other saying Trump had before the money was disbursed. Either way, I think it would have a massive chilling effect to say politicians cannot be associated with 501C3's without fear of prosecution. Congressional staff work with and coordinate with non-profits daily. Pretty much every time there is a big economic development or community improvement announcement in my area made, there are fingerprints of a C3 as part of the deal to make it happen as the sell of our local non-profit hospital to a for-profit hospital resulted in the profits being poured into a foundation to assist the community.

I think they are looking for Pay for Play..who knows? Clinton is gone, and that's all that matters.
So the crime here is campaign finance? Is that what you guys are hanging your hat on now?

Don't you think its pretty cheesy for a self professed billionaire to break the laws on campaign finance for what someone called "chump change"?
