I think that you are part of the problem. I think that your theory would not differentiate between the Nazis, and the German citizens who went along with them. The problem I have with it, is that there is always a difference between those who conceive evil, and then plot ways to gain approval for their plans, whether it be through domestic terrorism towards their citizens, which is what the Bush Administration did when they told us that a “chemical attack was imminent” which a lot of people forgot, but since I got trapped in Penn Station that week, I did not forget…or whether it be through the pure criminal evilness of forcing a vote three weeks before an election through which you are already running against the opposition by claiming that they are FOR the terrorists, WITH the terrorists, ARE the terrorists. Via pictures of war heros juxtaposed with Osama Bin Laden, and other things that we have also, as a nation, as the United States of Amnesia, forgotten.
And when, those kind of evil plotting and acts succeed, and people like you say that everyone is to blame, you allow no one to be blamed. It is one thing to say that the people who went along are not admirable- they aren't. It is quite another to claim they are just as bad, or worse. Quite another.
And that is why I blame you and all of the other people who make similar claims. You are setting the foundation they want set: Everyone is to blame, no one is to blame
The same thing the Treasury Secretary testified to today “there’s plenty of blame to go around” which means “don’t blame me” "blame everyone" There’s something so insidious and dishonest about this, and that is why I flip out and you and at Damo, etc.
And I know you will continue to do it, because that is what you are invested in doing, you must do it, if you didn’t do it, you’d have to question whether you really are better than everyone else…but just one time, I wanted to really lay out why I say “HORSESHIT”, when you do.
