When the Democrats Pass this Bailout

When the democrats pass this bailout will the resident lefty hacks r4espond by

  • Adopting a trickle down argument (i.e., we had to to bailout the rich to shield the masses)

    Votes: 5 45.5%
  • Claim they were duped into it

    Votes: 6 54.5%
  • Denounce the Democratic Party as the tool of oppression that it is

    Votes: 0 0.0%

  • Total voters

This is some of the funniest shit ever.

Dixie, Tinfoil, Battleborne, and apparently half the Cons here wander around the board calling women cunts, bitches and whores.

And yet cons on the thread have the gall to question why women consider Cons and conservativism, hostile to women.
I don't remember hearing from BB on this, in fact I don't think he's posted in more than 6 months.

I'm listening to C-Span right now. Jim Bunning (R) seems very against this bill, the Dems seem to just keep saying "We need to act but we need to make sure this isn't just a gift" or similar things like that. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) is shaky on it and seems very unsure on how to keep taxpayers from being exposed to this bill.

I honestly am going to go against my immediate best interest on this, since I have stock in WM, and say this bill is only going to create another bubble that will pop 10-20 years from now, and we will also have the burden of paying the debt from it. This bill fails, then WM turns into a penny stock, I should probably sell it. But, I'm betting congress does the wrong thing and burdens every single one of you with more government debt, and I become richer in the short term. Gotta pay my taxes somehow!

The Democrat (politicians that is) seem like scared deer in the headlight, I don't think any of them know what to do. They hate corporations but love more government activism in the economy, so they put out vague waffle, let the Repubs take credit/blame for the action.
If the bailout goes through and works in the short-term, they will call it a gift to corps, if it doesn't they will say the Repubs mismanaged things. Ideologically they should do the right thing, but politically there is not much downside for them, why should they care if it means more power.

You'd be wrong.

Why do you think Barack Obama won the nomination? I guaran-fucking-tee you, the main reason was Hillary's vote on the war.

Ever heard of Joe Lieberman? Democrats kicked his out out, and nominated Ned Lamont.

Yeah, right. The vast majority of Dems who voted for the war were reelected and the Dems nominated Kerry in 04.

As for those who claim to have seen the light, well I will wait to see when the next opportunity for them to prove that comes up. Until then I will just assume what is most likely, i.e., that they are spineless politicians who changed their tune to fit in with popular opinion. Those people may be worse than warmongers.

Nobody is worse than a war monger.

Nobody is worse than a war monger.

Sunshine war mongers are probably worse than consistent ones. I have no respect for someone who votes for war when it benefits them politically then changes course when it does not. They put us all in jeopardy.

I'd rather hang with someone who starts fights but fights until the end then someone who starts them and then runs away when things get rough.

That's nice.

It has nothing to do with willfully bombing women and children for profit but I guess it's good in a bar fight.

Willfully bombing women and children because it benefits your poll numbers is no different than doing it for profit.

I have ton of stocks in WM on the market game. I want this bill to pass, not only because it's best for the economy, but also because I want to face all those other dudes.

I think that you are part of the problem. I think that your theory would not differentiate between the Nazis, and the German citizens who went along with them. The problem I have with it, is that there is always a difference between those who conceive evil, and then plot ways to gain approval for their plans, whether it be through domestic terrorism towards their citizens, which is what the Bush Administration did when they told us that a “chemical attack was imminent” which a lot of people forgot, but since I got trapped in Penn Station that week, I did not forget…or whether it be through the pure criminal evilness of forcing a vote three weeks before an election through which you are already running against the opposition by claiming that they are FOR the terrorists, WITH the terrorists, ARE the terrorists. Via pictures of war heros juxtaposed with Osama Bin Laden, and other things that we have also, as a nation, as the United States of Amnesia, forgotten.

And when, those kind of evil plotting and acts succeed, and people like you say that everyone is to blame, you allow no one to be blamed. It is one thing to say that the people who went along are not admirable- they aren't. It is quite another to claim they are just as bad, or worse. Quite another.

And that is why I blame you and all of the other people who make similar claims. You are setting the foundation they want set: Everyone is to blame, no one is to blame

The same thing the Treasury Secretary testified to today “there’s plenty of blame to go around” which means “don’t blame me” "blame everyone" There’s something so insidious and dishonest about this, and that is why I flip out and you and at Damo, etc.

And I know you will continue to do it, because that is what you are invested in doing, you must do it, if you didn’t do it, you’d have to question whether you really are better than everyone else…but just one time, I wanted to really lay out why I say “HORSESHIT”, when you do.

BULLSHIT!

There are plenty who are not to blame. Those who opposed it from the start are not to blame.

While those who "went along" might not be deserving of the same blame as those who lead the charge, they are certainly culpable and I will be damned if I am going to trust them in leadership roles.

Further, there were Dems leading the charge as well, and then changed course when it was no longer popular. You did not throw all of them out of your party. You nearly gave one of them the nomination.

The Nazi citizens that went along with the herd are not equivalent to those that opposed them. You are trying to create the moral equivalence.

Sunshine, nighttime, all the time .. war mongers .. ALL of them .. are dangerous and counter-productive to the future of this nation.

You're creating a strawman, so I guess I touched a nerve.

becasue I never, ever, said that the "The Nazi citizens that went along with the herd are not equivalent to those that opposed them. You are trying to create the moral equivalence", and in fact, I specifically stated that they, and the ones who went along here, were not admirable at all. Nor did I ever say you should trust them in leadership roles.

Stop lying.

You have helped to create an atmosphere wherein everyone is to blame so no one is to blame, and maybe this is the first time you've even thought about that.
