Can the country be unified?

So where do we go from here?

One, recognize that a lot of Americans hate democracy. We need to fund our public schools to teach civics to our children.

Two, President Biden needs to use the word "democracy" and lecture our nation on our own history.

Three, we need to understand that fascism is a perversion of democracy and specific failure of the system.

I agree completely with the article but the only thing I would point out is that the distance from religion by the younger generations is far far more now than it's ever been

When you think people are just worms, you have no qualms about mass murdering your school mates. :dunno:

so we're butthurt now, right?????

No, dude. You just don't make any fucking sense. Those of us who can still think and understand the world for what it is grow weary of your type. You're liars. You're truth deniers. Anyone who believes Trump or supports Trump is a piece of shit. We already did our community service with your kind. Most of us are done with you all now.

Interesting. Thank you for expressing your perspective.

It can.

But the problem is that too many Americans do not believe in democracy.

That is the problem. You cannot unify a nation if a large minority does not even want a democracy.

The answer is no. That is, unless we have another event like 9/11.

One would have thought a crisis like this COVID thing would have unified us against a common enemy. But Trump, and his utter incompetence, fucked that opportunity up beyond anything imaginable.
