The GOP has no policy to run on

you whiffed it on med 4all. you could have done it.
when you always pledge support for your abuser (corporate dems) you never see improvement.
you watch jimmy dore?

Jimmy Dore is an idiot and anyone who watches him is an idiot too.

I voted Bernie in the primaries and have probably been the biggest advocate for M4A on JPP.

But I also understand that moderates need time to come around, so incremental changes -like the ACA and lowering Medicare's eligibility- get us closer to where we need to be than we ever would if we elected Republicans.

right. but him tariffing their goods is objectionable to you. why?

Because they rose their tariffs on us, and tariffs aren't paid by governments, they're paid by businesses who then pass those costs down to consumers.

Trump's dumb Trade War was so awful that we had to spend $30B (3x the auto rescue) to rescue farmer trash from their own shitty ideas.

I think it's cute that you think that the GOP is one big happy family, and that they fully cooperated with Trump. Fact is, a majority of them ignore the Constitution just as fluently as the Demorats do.

They sure do. They refused to convict the former Corruption-in-Chief TWICE for violating the law. They are doing everything they can to restrict voting and disenfranchise the ppl who are unlikely to vote for them. They misinterpret the 2nd Amendment to mean hand-cannons and arsenals for all. They did absolutely NOTHING to quell the rising insurrection that culminated on Jan. 6.

So what about those great policies and plans that the QOP has for us, which is the topic of discussion here? You've got nothing to say about that?

you have all three branches. you're a full of shit liar. jimmy dore truths out the establishment. I don't agree with him on everything, but he's a fucking truthteller.

you should try it, lie-bag.

I don't care who pays it. bottom line is it makes slave labor less profitable.

subsidizing farmers during a trade war is smart. the opposite is dumb, like you.

I don't care who pays it.

You should care.

bottom line is it makes slave labor less profitable.

No it doesn't. it makes products more expensive. It doesn't even come close to addressing slave labor. The TPP did, but y'all opposed that, remember?

subsidizing farmers during a trade war is smart.

No, it's incredibly dumb and a waste of money for absolutely no reward.

The Trade Deficit in 2018 was $621B

The Trade Deficit in 2019 was $616B

The Trade Deficit in 2020 was $678B

you're a fascist neocon globalist. dumb as fuck too.

making slave goods more expensive makes them less competitive, and allows a space for free people to work in.

you're a globalist fascist idiot.

the important thing with trade is to at least maintain capacity in key industries.

like, would it be smart to rely on china for military supply chains, or food.

if china dominates the market in cheap crap only, that's not as bad.

so an overall trade deficit number is less meaningful, given these factors.

Again, it doesn't do that because any costs are just passed onto consumers and they strangle smaller businesses who cannot pay those tariffs the way major, bigger businesses can.

How ‘Owning the Libs’ Became the GOP’s Core Belief
The weird journey of a tongue-in-cheek catchphrase from conservative-mocking putdown to the defining tenet of the Republican Party’s way of life.

Conservatism is an intellectually devoid movement anyway, that elevates laziness and selfishness because it's easier than coming up with policies and ideas that can attract votes.

Exactly! That's why in the last 30 years, the Republicans have only won the popular vote in a Presidential Election ONCE!

Again, it doesn't do that because any costs are just passed onto consumers and they strangle smaller businesses who cannot pay those tariffs the way major, bigger businesses can.

and if the consumer has to pay more, he may just choose to buy something american made with no tariffs.

do we need to have the elastic/inelastic demand discussion?

you said businesses don't pay tariffs?

tariffs provide a space for free people to work within. for sure, definitely. maybe you're economically retarded?

Again, it doesn't do that because any costs are just passed onto consumers and they strangle smaller businesses who cannot pay those tariffs the way major, bigger businesses can.

the biggest impediment to smaller business venues is the increasing number and cost of licenses and permits required by local, county, state, and sometimes federal entities to just start up a business
