I'm guessing the vehicle looked 'suspicious' with the tinted glass and no License plate. So, I'm also guessing the Cops weren't interested in playing a game of '20 Questions'.

I've been pulled over before. I usually try to exit the vehicle and show myself. Letting Police know I'm unarmed.

Not illegally tinted, but nice try. The fact remains it was legally tinted, but it was dark. The tag became visible when he pulled, with flashers on, into the gas station.

Thanks for your hatred of the US military, OCS and support for cops killing African-Americans. It's always nice to know where a person positions themselves in situations like this. You're disrespect for the United States military is interesting.

What is the problem with telling the guy why he was stopped, and no doubt this wasn’t the first time these cops encountered tinted windows with a tag on the window.

I’ve been pulled over many times myself and if I’m being pulled over by white cops on a dark road, I’ll look for lighted places to pull over before I get out of my car, and I always ask why I’m being pulled over, even if I already know. It’s my right to have him tell me. I don’t give a rats ass about what game he doesn’t want to play, it’s his duty to tell me.

Bottom line, there is a reason why he was fired .. and good riddance. McDonalds is hiring.

Me too as an Army brat. Base housing and DOD schools were melting pots of both races and foreign cultures since some had spouses from Japan or Europe. Not to mention we lived in Germany for three years.

Still, I agree that the failure of too many police officers to treat all Americans equally is very disturbing. Body cams seem to be the best tool for fixing this problem. Most, if not all, honest cops want the body cams because it cuts down the frivolous accusations of abuse.
 
Obey all commands. If they are unreasonable request a badge number. “He’s wearing his US Army uniform so fucking what! Are those cops stupid?” Was Major Nidal Malik Hasan in uniform when he ran amok?

Driving to a well lit area is recommended. (probably for the safety of both parties)
What is the purpose of asking 'Why am I being pulled over'. The Cop, if he doesn't have a valid reason, can just make shit up: 'illegal lane change', 'car fits the description of a Burglary', etc.
In this case, the Driver said "What is going on?".
:) Cops: "Get out of the vehicle!"
Driver: "What is going on?"
Cops: "Get out of the vehicle!"
Driver: "What is going on?"

This looks like the guy is intentionally 'Playing Stupid'.
It's a simple request. Happens every day. Very typical.

In my view, Cops have a tough job, they have no idea what is going to happen at any given interaction with the Public. I try to calm their fears so 'mistakes' DON'T happen.

Do u refuse to get out of the car when asked? Do u run to get back in your car when cop says something u dont like? Have u had an active warrant for your arrest when pulled over and ran back to your car


Anyway I see u are still alive after "ALL" these stops even in Redneck Ga ..if cops were shooting and killing people just for being black with all those stops u would have been dead a long time ago

Pulling the car over was not the problem, dude. It was the Barney Fifes coming out guns drawn, no doubt with their bullet in the chamber, and treating Lt. Nazario like a criminal. Once in the lights of the gas station, my understanding is that the tag became visible. No doubt close up, the headlights of the cruisers would show the tag too. Nazario was legal, so why the guns? Because the soon-to-be-fired podunk cops were fucking morons?

Bottom line: One cop fired, the other probably soon to be. No charges that night or now against Lt. Nazario. Everyone else should unbunch their panties.

Why would I want to get the guy out of the vehicle? Just because I'm a fucking asshole who doesn't like it when a civilian says "Why" instead of "how high?" when I say "Jump! N****r, jump!"?

As soon as they saw the tag, they should have de-escalated and awaited the data after running the plate. Then have one cop walk around and calmly approach from the front (front windshield is untinted) asking for drivers license and registration while the other cop covered him. There was no reason to treat Lt. Nazario like a criminal. Due process and all that, doncha know?
