That's a new one.
It would be for them.

So, in your opinion, we should set science & the scientific community aside, and let anecdotal evidence dictate things in that area?
Ancedotal evidence?????? It is fact. Around the world.
The fact is that sea levels have been rising, and they have seen an acceleration of that in the last 2 decades.
That actually is a fact. It's the truth. That "debate" is actually done. Most conservatives acknowledge that - but the crux of the new debate is whether or not man is partially responsible for the trend.
Exactly. Same all over the place. Why is it all the landlocked cubicle and apartment dwelling assholes think they know more than those that see it everyday?

Based on the amount of greenhouse gases humans have already added to the Earth’s atmosphere, the world is guaranteed to experience approximately 5 feet of sea level rise in the coming decades, climate scientist Benjamin Strauss told “The Climate Crisis Podcast.”
“It’s in that range, you know, 5 feet plus or minus. And that’s because we’ve already warmed the planet by around 2 degrees Fahrenheit, 1.1 Celsius,” Strauss, the president and CEO of Climate Central, a nonprofit that tries to educate policymakers and the public about the threats posed by climate change, told Yahoo News. “Think of it this way: If I dumped a truckload of ice in the middle of Phoenix, we’d all know it’s going to melt. But it takes time to melt.
And the same thing is true for the big ice sheets on Greenland and Antarctica and glaciers around the world. We turned up the thermostat. We’ve already heated the planet by a couple degrees, but they’ve only begun to respond by melting. And that’s why we have all this extra sea level in the pipeline and it’s, it’s enough, I’m afraid to say, it’s hard to imagine the long-term future of South Florida, let’s say, right, with the sea level that’s already in the pipeline.”

Poor darlins' just don't get out much, do they?![]()
I doubt if anything other than incentives will get them to curb their pollution and carbon emissions. If their citizens demand it because they're dying from the garbage air, maybe then.
Hello Salty! Hope things are well! No, they do not.
Hi Sailor! All's fine here. Loving the cool-down we're getting in Florida. How about you and your guys? Everyone good?![]()
If you had any dignity or self respect, you would just admit you were wrong and move on, but here we are.
"Guaranteed" to rise "at least" 5 feet. Plus or "minus". Moron.![]()
It's not too late to be on the right side of history! The climate is clearly, indisputably the biggest issue facing mankind.
There is no Planet B. We need to protect our home.
Hello ThatOwlWoman,
China is already committing to big emissions cuts. They get it. They're not dumb. China has more renewable energy production than we do.
Somebody is guaranteed to get hung up on semantics and totally miss the point.
It doesn't matter if it is precisely 5'.
Anything close is devastating.
What does it matter where the deck chairs are if the Titanic is sinking?

Or if they're off by a few years.
It's not speculation anymore. The warning signs are everywhere. No one cares.
As a species, we're really not programmed to be motivated to fix something until it's a massive crisis. For something easily fixable, that's not necessarily a disaster. But the climate isn't easily fixable.
