The Supreme Court faces an existential crisis of legitimacy

Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor said it better than any of the court’s external critics. "Will this institution survive the stench this creates in the public perception, that the Constitution and its reading are just political acts?” she asked during oral arguments on Mississippi’s abortion law on Wednesday. “If people believe this is all politics, how will we survive? How will this court survive?”

horseshit. Sotomayor is merely trying to put forth a narrative that will degrade the likely decision of the majority that the voters of each state should decide the abortion question. The court will be just fine, the constitution will be just fine. Abortion should never have become a federal issue.

Why is abortion not a federal issue?

Why is abortion not a federal issue?

Why is a personal decision about someone's life not just their decision? It is not a legal issue. It is a personal choice made by someone who knows what the problems are. Almost 1 woman in 4 has had an abortion. That includes people in your neighborhood.

I agree with you. I never understood why people obsess on abortion.

question for the resident liberals: Why is abortion on demand so important to you? try to answer logically and honestly, if you can.

You are a putrid excuse as a poster. Trump broke down the walls between the branches of government
No, he didn't. He didn't change one bit of the Constitution.
and openly politicized the courts.
Evidence? Did you know that courts are made of people? Politics?
The highest court in the land has lost its respect.
It did as soon as it tried to change and interpret the Constitution, which it is not authorized to do.
The nominees lied about stare decisis. Kav had his alleged mind made up and his path determined. He lied about respecting past decisions. Trump made the courts, all of them he could, political and under the power of some very powerful people. The Roberts court is the most pro-corporate and anti-worker of all time. Biden should expand the court.
For political reasons??
