I don't think Fox has anything to discover. Fox has already announced on air they had no evidence for their claims (as did newsmax).

As stated, Fox has already given that much. I don't believe they were prepared to admit to 'knowingly', though. That is probably what this is about.

But Dominion can show damages on paper. Someone's going to pay them.

There is no onus on Dominion to prove anything about its voting machines other than they work as claimed, are secure, and that Fox's defamation caused them monetary damage. The burden of proof is on FOX to prove that the company manufactured machines that are defective, that are not secure and that can be manipulated by outside actors in order to change the votes for a particular candidate. Dominion is under no obligation to provide them with detailed specs.

If they turn over all electronic/paper communications during discovery, it might shed light on a plot to fabricate/spread the disinformation, instead of just 'reporting' it from other sources.

It might be something that shows up in discovery even though they admitted to being 'wrong' in their reporting already.
 
Dominion did nothing wrong except being a potential target for the Trumpies to make a dishonest claim about the election. I doubt they will get nearly what they ask, but Fox cannot win. This is just another right-wing lie that hurt someone. This time they may pay bigly.

I understand. When they made their statements on air they did not admit they were wrong, but admitted they have no proof for each statement they made.

I assumed they agreed to make the statements in order to avoid a lawsuit.

Given that Dominion is going after numerous players, they might get tens of millions from each, if they can show actual damages in their books.

Exactly! The claims are so bold by the Qidiots, they should be easy to prove/disprove.
 
Fox lost the lawsuit trying to block the trial from going ahead. This is where companies generally offer a settlement. But Dominion lost business to Foxes lying smear job. They need their reputation back. The best thing they could do is take the suit all the way.
