Actually, it would be more accurate to say that the Daily Mail estimates are higher than anybody else's. This may be explained by the fact the Daily Mail are fucking idiots. :)

A million march to US Capitol to protest against 'Obama the socialist'

As many as one million people flooded into Washington for a massive rally organised by conservatives claiming that President Obama is driving America towards socialism.

The size of the crowd - by far the biggest protest since the president took office in January - shocked the White House.

Demonstrators massed outside Capitol Hill after marching down Pennsylvania Avenue waving placards and chanting 'Enough, enough'.

The focus of much of the anger was the president's so-called 'Obamacare' plan to overhaul the U.S. health system.

Demonstrators waved U.S. flags and held signs reading 'Go Green Recycle Congress' and 'I'm Not Your ATM'.'

The protest on Saturday came as Mr Obama took his campaign for health reforms on the road, making his argument to a rally of 15,000 supporters in Minneapolis.

Saying he was determined to push through a bill making health insurance more affordable, Mr Obama said: 'I intend to be president for a while and once this bill passes, I own it.

You hacks EXPECTED a million .. or even two million .. but all you got was tens of thousands.

You EXPECTED that more people would show up than did for Obama's inaguration.

You most certainly EXPECTED than more people would show up than did for the Million Man March.

All you got was about as many people that show up for college football games .. not a Michigan game of course where twice as many people would show up.

It would have been much smarter to tout "tens of thousands" as a success rather than trying to invent easily refutable numbers.

I haven't read the rest of this thread but surely an argument as to whether there were a million or a hundred rather detracts from the main point as I see it.
One american who honestly does not know the meaning of socialism is one american who has been 'left behind'.
How can americans be so ignorant, so misguided, so under educated as to think that a policy designed (and proven in other countries) to help the citizenry should be labelled 'socialist'? (and even if it was who in their right mind would condemn something so clearly advatageous)
I wouldn't mind betting that there is a significant correlation between the marchers, creationists and followers of the NRA. Loonies the lot of them and certainly a sector of the population in no position to partake in political debate inside or outside america.
It is staggering, absolutely staggering that so much ignorance still exists in 2009.

The discrimination is very precise. it's targetted against WHITE MEN. That's why I use race and gender discrimination to describe it. It's quite rational if you could think well.

The solution is to end policies of racial/gender discrimination. My arguments are rock solid. Race/gender discrimination are both unconstitutional. I'm right. You're wrong. Legally. There is no argument here. You are a hate criminal who espouses racial/gender discrimination. See you behind bars.
