Happy red wave day!

Look, I’m not necessarily celebrating the small victory of the Dems or the loss of Rs in general.

What I hope to celebrate is the demise of Trumpism and the return of a sane and reasonable Republican party. One that is not filled with QAnon nuts, conspiracy freaks and other ne’er do wells. There are some conservative values that I admire and adhere to, but they went astray for a few years. I hope that old party is back.

Quibbling with your "small victory" as truly meaning "smaller than expected loss". :D

Agreed on supporting the demise of Trumpism, authoritarian populism and any other smell of authoritarianism and a One Party State.

While I doubt Trump will ever go to prison for his crimes, I fully expect all of those around him who helped will face the justice they are due. This will take time but I expect the next two years will continually see the convictions of 1/6 criminals and the indictments of higher officials.

The fact several states are looking at different crimes will also play a major part in national politics until the next election.

I love how Trumpublicans wants us to stop talking about Trump, while they still trot out Obama and Hillary.

It's an indication of their dishonesty. They gaslight, project and are moral hypocrites. They have no honor. While the elderly RW geezers on JPP are a small, self-compartmentalizing group, the fact they reflect the noise from Fox Newz reflects upon the dishonesty of all Trumpers.

FWIW, Tucker aside, most of the daytime Fox News shows are downplaying a Biden impeachment and Trump running in 2024. While it's not touched upon a lot, the occasional remarks without anyone advocating the opposite, is telling. It indicates a shift of the American RW away from the anti-American Trumper White Nationalist movement.

IMO, this doesn't bode well for those White Nationalists who broke the law. They'll be the ones paying the price for both 1/6 and any RW terrorist acts.

Blab about that again when it's 25F outside, and you're ass deep in snow, slush and ice trying to get your walker across the street. Meanwhile, in South Florida, it will be 75F and sunny.

Your other alternative is Southern California and Arizona, but that's a much longer bus ride. Frankly, anywhere on the Gulf Coast will be a huge change from Boston in winter, but they're all Red States.

FWIW, while all are cheaper than the North, Florida is the most glitzy and a bigger tourist trap with price to match. Consider the "Redneck Riviera", or anywhere along the coast from Alabama to Brownsville, TX.

Most of Florida is going to be underwater by 2040.

You think branding yourself as the “redneck riviera” is going to draw people there?

Not relevant to the thread, to which I apologize, but I’m tired of Floridians attempting to promote themselves as this paradise cause of the heat.
On the weather, as bad as winter is up north, summer is equally if not worse in Florida, hot and humid, night and day. A snowstorm, even a Northeastener, is no way comparison to a hurricane or tropical storm. And one can only do sun and sand and tourists attractions so many times

On the physical side, Florida is flat, very flat, accented by strip malls, boulevards, chain stores/restaurants, and traffic lights that one gets old fast waiting for them to change. There is no mentionable infrastructure, often, if you can’t drive there, you can’t get there. And Culturally, it is a vacuum, mediocrity is the major theme, old people go there waiting to pass

Only people flocking to Florida are snowbirds, who spend a large portion of the year back where they came from

Check your timing. While that is likely to happen, I doubt many on this forum will see it....which explains why many don't give a shit. Kind of like the national debt.

LOL...well many in this forum will have died of old age or COVID long before 2040 comes around.

No, that's its name. Obviously you're not from around here. LOL

Besides agriculture, tourism is a big part of Florida's economy for both natural and resort reasons.

So what if the snowbirds fly north every spring and summer? They still pay taxes on their Florida property.

Of course, everything is fine! As long as the bleeding is stopped, I'm good with it.

Best thing ever? The next President is Governor of my state and he has rewritten the political landscape by winning Miami Dade county!

I love my Governor!

Congratulations!

And Biden will still be President :)

Yeah, let's hope so, Goon -o. There is nothing I would rather see than Trump and "Blow-Hole" Joe go head-to-head in the 2024 Presidential race. When it was over there would be nothing left of Biden but a mess of blood and white hair plugs strewn across the floor.

Getting rid of Biden now is what the Democrats know they have to do, - and they need to do it fast, - but getting that sorted out that might not be as easy as it sounds, here are some of the options: (1) BIDEN AGREES TO STAND DOWN VOLUNTARILY Biden would never stand down voluntarily, no American President ever has, (they are far too addicted to their power) except Richard Nixon when he resigned in 1974. But Nixon's resignation was not really voluntary; his legal counsel had advised him that if he did not stand down and resign the Presidency, he was guaranteed to end up in prison; (2) IMPEACH BIDEN The Republicans will not impeach Biden - that would be a foolish political move for a number of reason, and they are fully aware of that; - in short there no political percentage for them in impeaching Biden there's no percentage in it for them (naturally Biden SHOULD be impeached because he is a reprobate who is not only criminally corrupt, but responsible for a range of unprecedented and inexcusable, monumental cock-ups like the botched withdrawal of US Military forces from Afghanistan, and the outrageous open South-West border crisis. Correct me if I am mistaken , but I cannot bring to mind any other Western/Anglosphere nation that has in the last 150 years (at least) had a Head of State : a President or a Prime Minister who has been has been so "bat-shit crazy as to open their nation's borders to the peasants from the Third World (5,000,000 of them over the past 18 months in the case of the Biden administration) who are poor and without capital to support themselves; mostly do not speak English; most do not have a high school education; have little intention of securing some form of low-skilled employment because they are fully aware that US Welfare State Grants and Benefits (public assistance) are easy to obtain (one way or another) of wide-ranging kinds, and generous enough to rule out the prospect of full-time/part-time work as a viable option. This provision of Welfare assistance to illegal immigrants and criminal immigrants currently costs the US tax-payer an absolute f**king fortune (3) THE 25th AMENDMENT Removing Biden via the 25th Amendment is another option on the table for the Democrats, but this may not necessarily be a smooth and straight-forward process, in fact it could create all sorts of serious problems for them (NB:of course, it goes without saying that Biden's, brain's pre-frontal cortex has degenerated into something that resembles a largish, squishy, "stewed prune" that is, in legal parlance, Biden is "non compos mentis" (i.e. has shit for brains) and SHOULD be removed from office at the earliest opportunity vis the 25th Amendment) but again there are a number of potential problems the Democrats might well run into if they should decide to apply this measure. (4) BLACKMAIL: Biden is wide open for blackmail, the Democrat Power-brokers could use Hunter Biden or Biden's brother Jim as bargaining chip: e.g. "Joe, if you either stand down gracefully next, we'd be happy to toss to $500,000 as a farewell present in thank for the great job you've done. But if you don't play ball we make sure that Hunter and Jimbo end up in stir for a long, long time, and that's just the start. Got it ?"

BUT THERE'S ONE HUGE PROBLEM WITH REMOVING BIDEN PROMPTLY AFTER THE MID-TERMS That is, if they do manage to remove his as President (which is absolutely want the want to do as soon as is reasonably possible, they will have merely jumped out of the pan into the fire; BECAUSE, guess who will become President if Biden is ousted ?

YES !! THAT'S RIGHT." CACKLING, KAMALA HARRIS, WHO APPARENTLY GIVES A GOOD "BLOW-JOB," BUT HAS THE COGNITIVE CAPACITY OF A LARGE, BLACK DILDO !!

HA ! HA ! HA ! :):):):) SUCK IT UP DUMMYCRATS !! SUCK....IT....UP !!!

I'm celebrating. A W is a W is a W. As long as one branch is not uniform with the rest, I'm good.

And Florida, well I am just blown away with those results. AAAmazing.

Congrats. I'm glad you're happy with Florida. Your might only have your gov for 2 years though. We might inaugurate a "president Sanctimonious" in a couple :)

Top 4 FEMA emergency relief funds:

Texas
Florida
North Carolina
California

You can have the South and its constant battle with weather. I’ll take my month or so of a dry 25°

WTF does this have to do with the Floridian economy being greatly supported by Snowbirds?

People voted per law yesterday, but they vote every day with their wallets and feet. What's your point?
