That would be great news but the big political issue is will there be job hiring that follows? There is "talk" of growth that you speak of without the subsequent hiring. That will bury politicians in office (rhetorically speaking).

It has more to do with the characterization that you & Hackocles are presenting. The speech I posted was a long one, and - to me - the quote that Hacko found was much more about the GOP being an obstructionist party when it comes to working with the admin on economic policy.

Imagine that; a sitting President calling the opposition party obstructionist.

Some CHANGE!

the characterization is accurate on my part.... he and his admin do continue to use the 'we inherited this mess' in speeches. Quit being an apologist for your messiah.

LOL, you only get 4 yrs. You'd think he could muster up a pair of balls after about just 3 months. That shit is wearing thin.

So now not only does President Obama have a list of topics he can't discuss without upsetting you, but now he has to worry about how he says it in order not to upset you?

One would think living on the wind swept eastern plains of Colorado would have toughened that thin skin of yours.
Actually I hope he continues to whine, it helps to make his numbers go down faster.

I just point out what I see and hear. The one thing I know is that the proverbial buck does not stop at the desk of Obama. Ever.

"President Barack Obama has accepted responsibility for bailed-out insurance giant AIG's huge bonus payments, as the company's boss said he has ordered employees to return part of their payouts.

"Listen, I'll take responsibility. I'm the president," Obama said...'

"It’s a job I gladly accept. I love these folks who helped get us in this mess. And then suddenly say, ‘Oh, this is Obama’s economy.’ That’s fine. Give it to me. My job is to solve problems -- not to stand on the sidelines and carp and gripe. So I welcome the job. I want the responsibility"

"Ultimately I'm responsible, I'm the president of the United States. The buck stops with me. " - regarding AIG bonuses & economy...

And yet in the next speech, the very next one that people saw, and the one people saw and heard, he again pointed out he "inherited" the problem and never once said it was his. Because he says one thing, then does another. The buck doesn't stop there.... Not even after he says he welcomes it.

So, let's play a game. You post a link to speech text (other than the one for kids) and we'll see how often we can find the phrase. It will be fun!

I hope you're not holding out hope that Damo will admit to being full of shit. You'll be waiting a long, long time for that one.

LOL. Dung. I simply stated that in every speech I've watched he whined about inheriting the problem. This doesn't prove me "wrong"... it isn't even a speech.

I've asked you to give me the list of speeches that don't include the phrase (other than the one for kids)... We'll happily see if we can find the phrase and see if I was right.

Inheriting a mess & being accountable for his own policies are 2 different concepts, which you seem to have an extraordinarily difficult time separating.

You said the buck never stops w/ him, ever. I posted quotes where he clearly says it does.

You lose.

Why don't we play the game where you point out which speeches Obama says he "inherited" the problem (which you concede is factually correct). His speeches are conveniently archived here:

http://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/speeches-and-remarks

You're turn.

P.S. I'll give you a hint -- you can skip the President's remarks on the economy from today.

Again, saying it does, then attempting to excuse his policy by passing it to the past is not "stopping"...

I never said he didn't "claim" the buck stopped there, I said his actions prove that it doesn't.

As I said, you must not have watched too many of his speeches.

I dont call that whining, I call that making sure the "party of personal responsability" does not get away with blaming him for the mess they created.

President Obama has presided over the start of one of the greatest econonic turnarounds this country has ever seen.

Look where we were a year ago, on the edge of an economic abiss, now the train that was speeding toward that abiss has slowed to a mere crawl and looks to be close to a standstill, soon to be followed by a gathering speed in the opposit direction from when President Obama took office.

I drive a car toward a cliff at 100 MPH, the passiengers vote me out as driver, the new driver slams the breaks but the car skidds a bit further and before the car can stop I start to blame the new driver? Man, the party of "personal responsability" is full of crap an if the American people buy it, they are silly!

Luckily the election is not this year!

The American people have a very short attention span and often need to be reminded that President Obama inherited a much worse mess than we are currently in.

Um... Jarod, it is worse since Obama took over. There are some signs that this may turn around, that we may have hit bottom, but it is not "better" right now than it was in January. Since January millions have lost their jobs, they aren't very happy.
