Man forced to ditch $115K Ford EV truck during family road trip to Chicago

i've listed page long lists of the subsidies and bailouts that Oil and Gas and ICE Manufacturers have got and been getting for almost 100 years.
Blatant lie. Oil companies don't get subsidies. EVs are heavily subsidized. Auto manufacturers don't get subsidies.
And yet these derps still keep saying 'EV's must compete without subsidies or it is wrong'.
EVs cannot compete on the open market. Even with the subsidies and mandates, less then 1% of the cars on the road are EVs.
It is very typical right wing derp nonsense where any thing they approve of they are thrilled with all the subsidies and bailout money etc, that all contribute to making the cost lower for those, and yet they cry crocodile tears at any attempt to level the playing field and make it fairer for others to compete.
Hallucination. Oil companies and auto manufacturers don't get subsidies.
This cartoon perfectly encapsulated the right on almost every issue where they hold the unfair advantage at the start but then complain voraciously if a single thing is done to help those in the rear to catch up as 'unfair', saying they need to compete without getting any help.
Pivot fallacy.

Exactly.

I'm forced to pay for them regardless, I might as well use them.

It all depends on the contract. The installer works directly for Owens Corning who does cover most environmental factors - wind and storms- not bullets though.

So you join communism because you think it's a better deal than paying for communism?? You lose in the end, dude.

Start up to the rumble and shake of a big block Chevy or Chrysler Hemi, or the high pitch growl of an M series BMW, AMG Mercedes, or Audi S series. You don't want to hear the cries of the children mining lithium so you ban all mining here in the US and tell yourself you are doing good for the world forgetting that everything in your electric car came from petroleum-based technology, but you can't see it so it is ok.
Run your government mandated electric cars, just don't tell me I have to own one. Electric cars have no soul.

Children don't mine lithium. You are thinking of cobalt child slavery mines in Africa.

Dude…this isn’t rocket surgery. Google “Edmunds cost to own Tesla Three.”.

Rocket 'surgery' is actually pretty simple. I make them all the time.

Google is not God. Don't treat it like one.

The Tesla Model 3 cannot tow anything. It's too heavy. Further, I can buy three gasoline new gasoline cars for the price of a Tesla Model 3.
I can fix and maintain all of the gasoline cars with fairly common tools. The Tesla requires a special equipped shop that only the dealer has.
A single battery damaged in the Tesla in a car accident totals the car. This is why insurance for these things is so high.
I can refuel for full range in just a few minutes instead of the hours required for the Tesla.

I DGAF what other people drive. I don't drive an EV either. I don't care about your moralizing. You whine every bit as much as the people on the far left.

I am just arguing against the people arguing they have no place, and are not practical. For more people, for their daily commutes, they are perfect for them.

I'll let you know that most rational adults mock stupid people like you who rush to Wikipedia for help with all of life's decisions and who believe every fucked-up wild nonsense they read on the internet.

I will not rush to Google answers that I already know. I'm confident that the first 10,000 hits will get it wrong because this world is full of undereducated leftists filling the internet with errors at a breakneck pace. I am not interested in any of the disinformation you crave.

I have only one piece of advice for you before I send you back to coloring over at the children's table: learn some science.

* The 2nd law of thermodynamics explains why electric cars will always be less efficient than combustion engine vehicles, and explains why electrics will only be filling niche needs.
* The Fischer-Tropsh process explains why hydrocarbons are the worlds best renewable sources of energy.

Learn those, or relegate yourself to being raked over the coals regularly by those who are not undereducated leftists and who don't fall for the same internet disinformation that so easily sucked you in.

Don't be afraid to come to me with the hard stuff.

Bulverism. Bigotry.
Bulverism fallacy. Bigotry.
Bulverism. Bigotry. False Authority.
bigotry, bulverism,

OMG! I just checked my gas mileage. I'm averaging 12 MPG (on hi-test). That's awesome!

:kipyes:

Never equate gas mileage with fun factor.
Let's see,
Cobra or 2011 Prius....... Hummm.

:bigthink:

I go with 8 or 9 friends with trophy winning cars to car shows. We travel to, and sit together when we can.
I've met so many people going to car shows and seen some mighty fine automobiles. Too many to list here!
Lots of fun driving the back country roads. We generally split up on the way home. Some travel a little faster :whoa:

They say driving a Cobra is like driving nothing else. They ain't lying.

I am envious. I can only imagine the sounds and vibrations.

My last true British "sports car" was a new 1963 Austin Healy Sprite. 1098 cc's of fun through an Abarth exhaust system. Then moved on to a new 67' Camaro RS and then a 1970 Buick GS. Kids came, and cars got more practical for a few years.

I went from a sweet, nearly 600 HP '67 Mustang Fastback to an '87 Lincoln MK VII LSC. Don't get me wrong, the Lincoln was sharp. I put a top of the line 3 amp SONY stereo system in it. It was a smooth cruiser.

Sorry for the off topic stuff, but last Saturday a customer came in with a Ford Mustang Steve McQueen Bullitt Edition 2021. Now, that vehicle has some character.

Communism in the form of subsidies for EVs has no place.
Fascism in the form of mandates for EVs has no place.
