"My favorite part of the Super Bowl was not Taylor Swift.
It wasn’t the commercials or even the legendary miracle overtime ending.
While the halftime show was great, it’s not what moved me.
All of these aspects of the Super Bowl yesterday were fun and special in their own way.
None of them top Chris Jones.
During Reba’s performance of the national anthem, Chris Jones was in tears.
That moved me.
Chris Jones weighs about 300 pounds and he’s over 6 feet tall.
What a way to show the world that it doesn’t matter how big and strong you are, it’s OK to show your emotions.
A wonderful message for young men everywhere that admire football players for their strength and athleticism that it's OK to cry.
Jones is also an ardent supporter of our military and our Veterans.
At a Military Training Appreciation Camp event in which he participated, he said, “This was really important to me just because of the work the military puts in to preserve our freedom in this country. I have people in my family that are in the military – in the Navy and the Army – so it's dear to my heart."
When Jones cried during the anthem yesterday, I felt that in my heart.Because I too feel emotional when I hear the national anthem.
I will never shy away from saying that because this country gave my parents everything when they had nothing.
This country saved my parents from tyranny and oppression.
And while she isn’t perfect, America is my home.
I'm proud to be American.
Thank you Chris Jones for this beautiful moment." And obviously this should have quotes at the beginning of this message which I'll fix...lol
