you're not being realistic. i don't even know what happens to my neighbors in a town of less than 70,000....unless i see it on the news. it is highly that many knew what happened. regardless, many more, non iraqis now know what happened. it is the height of ignorance to believe AQ members only come from iraqis, if you had any rational understanding, you would know that most AQ members coming to iraq are non iraqis. and they would not have know about this incident, but for the video. to claim otherwise is pure silliness.

clear now that some of the people with the apparent journalist were in fact armed. if you're walking around in a war zone, there are risks. i don't know if what happened was within the bounds of proper war or not, but there is no doubt that video spawned hatred of the US military and the belief that the entire incident was a war crime....
to hold wikileaks blameless is unreasonable, nothing was gained by the release of this video except more hatred and as you said, more recruitment and attacks from
AQ.
