If they're mandatory, that means you can't skip them... You could opt out with an IEP....Are there any Federal Tests?
The tests are "mandatory" but they don't fail you for not doing them.

You can skip them, trust me. They do not like it, but it can be done.If they're mandatory, that means you can't skip them... You could opt out with an IEP....
What Federal tests are you talking about, I understand if you do not answer. If they're mandatory, that means you can't skip them... You could opt out with an IEP....
Not legally you can...can you? So you cheat the system? You can skip them, trust me. They do not like it, but it can be done.
I likely cheat the system. I have no problem with cheating such a system that puts burdens on my kids that are unreasonable.Exactly...they don't want their numbers messed up if someone should fail....![]()

Back then it was a real fight to get him help, Nobody knew what to do.
We got him into the Association for Retarded Children and they started to work with him, then we keep on the local school district and kept him in school , he is now in his 40s and lives in a group home and holds down a job.
The NAEP is voluntary for students, my kids never took them.I gave you a list of what they do...thanks for the confession, though....wow... just when I think I've heard everything...
They say parents are a huge part of the problem in our schools...and you just gave a stunning example...
I agree " kids not getting what is the very best for them."I realize that you are very sensitive about this subject, as you should be...
I will respect your personal situation but not your "links".. It is my understanding that you aren't involved in the schools directly anymore.. I can only comment on what I experience, and what I see now....I wish the best for your son and your family, and if you had a bad experience, I'm sorry...
That's what schools will be trying to avoid in the future...kids not getting what is the very best for them...
So if you had kids, you would force them to take such a test, that you do not agree with? What happened to parental rights?I gave you a list of what they do...thanks for the confession, though....wow... just when I think I've heard everything...

The US Department of Education, through its National Center for Education Statistics, conducts the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), also known as "The Nation's Report Card", which assesses student achievement in key subjects like reading, math, and science.
Here's a more detailed explanation of the testing done by the US Department of Education:
National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP):
This is a congressionally mandated, nationally representative assessment of what American students know and can do in major academic subjects. It's the only continuing assessment of its kind and provides data on the condition of education in the U.S.
Purpose of NAEP:
NAEP allows policymakers and education leaders to track student learning over time and across states.
Grades Tested:
NAEP tests students in grades 4, 8, and 12.
Data Collection:
The Department's National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) conducts NAEP.
Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC):
The Office for Civil Rights (OCR) conducts a biennial survey of public schools to collect data on leading civil rights indicators related to access and barriers to educational opportunity.
State-Level Assessments:
The US Department of Education does not mandate specific state-level assessments, instead, states choose their own assessments to measure how well students meet their state's academic standards.
State-Funded ACT and SAT Tests:
The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce offers state-funded ACT and SAT tests.
Ohio's State Tests:
Ohio conducts state tests in English Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies, including Ohio Graduation Tests, Early Learning Assessments, and Kindergarten Readiness Assessments.
Ohio English Language Proficiency Assessments:
The Ohio Department of Education also conducts assessments for English Language Proficiency.
Student Readiness Toolkits:
The Ohio Department of Education has created assessment toolkits to help teachers gain understanding about each child's knowledge, skills, abilities, and learning needs.
OH I know several that have, and as I said the one I know that has Asperger's syndrome did and with a lot of help and teaching from his MOTHER NOT the school system he is doing well.Good for you and for him as well. Your heart aches for all the children who don't have involved, proactive parents like your son has. Then when you throw in heartless assholes like Toxic and others who claim these conditions aren't "real." Makes you wonder how many kids just fall through the cracks because of the stigma.

To be fair my son was not top of his class, but he is doing well at UF.Yep, Jarod's kids being at the top of their class indicates a "parental problem." *eyeroll*
I agree " kids not getting what is the very best for them."
I know several people that should have been put on the spectrum and weren't.
One I personally know has Asperger's syndrome and hasn't been diagnosed properly and because of that never got a proper education.
He was just shoved aside , He lives on his own ( a lot of Asperger's people are high functioning but there are times they need help ) and does some what well.
And it is these people IMO that did not get the best help, help they really needed.
