How else could your kids opt out?How so?
By not taking the tests. How else could your kids opt out?
The tests are mandatory...so you're teaching that it's ok to go against the rules of the school system... I see, and I'm not surprised...in the least...By not taking the tests.
Yeah, that way if the child is being pushed into becoming transexual they can't call their parents for advice, and if the school allows police to question them in loco parentis they cannot ask their parents for help. The schools will have much more control of their every moment if they don't let them talk to people that aren't part of the Machine... you know, because all in all we are all just bricks in the wall.IMO one of the first things they should do ( and some school districts are doing it finally ) Take their Cell phones away during school. If there is an emergency and their parents have to get a hold of them they can call the school and they can get a hold of them .
Have you ever read the ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act)? Passed in 2015 it replaced NCLB (No Child Left Behind). Both of those programs required testing to obtain funds... If you are honest you will remember that I argued against both of them saying that it was a power grab for powers that are not specifically granted the Federal Government in BOTH cases. What Federal tests are you talking about, I understand if you do not answer.
And the other side's largest point is that tying the funds to testing requirements is simply a power grab and an attempt to seize a power not specifically granted to the Federal Government. My biggest point is taking away much needed funding for kids with problems like these isn't doing anybody any good epically them.
There are, and I answered even if she did not.She will never answer because she's wrong and there are none.
And they can go home and talk to their parents and IF it happened the parents can go to the school and put a stop to it.Yeah, that way if the child is being pushed into becoming transexual they can't call their parents for advice, and if the school allows police to question them in loco parentis they cannot ask their parents for help. There are states where they can and have taken children from the custody of their parents for not agreeing to accept their new "gender" that the schools "discovered" for the child after they were questioned without parental knowledge. In such cases they cannot "just go home" and the parents cannot just "put a stop to it".And they can go home and talk to their parents and IF it happened the parents can go to the school and put a stop to it.
Talking on phone or being distracted by phones in school shouldn't be allowed in schools.
As we have seen since cell phones were allowed test scores have gone down and kids are NOT learning .
I don't know what era you grew up in but we didn't have cell phones and we turned out just fine.
So you are saying the kids can't go home and tell their parents what is happening and the parents CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT ?There are states where they can and have taken children from the custody of their parents for not agreeing to accept their new "gender" that the schools "discovered" for the child after they were questioned without parental knowledge. No, I am saying they were taken from the custody of their parents, they cannot "just go home" and the parents must deal with the authorities... they cannot just "put a stop to it". It's like you cannot comprehend what you read. And if this particular right means to "just move to another state" then don't ever suggest that some states having stricter abortion laws is a "burden" on anyone. "Just move" is what your advice will be...So you are saying the kids can't go home and tell their parents what is happening and the parents CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT ?
There is home schooling, private schools. moving to another state, and most of all going to the school and school board and stopping what is going on.

OH so they are kidnapping them and doing anything they want and nobody is doing anything about it.No, I am saying they were taken from the custody of their parents, they cannot "just go home" and the parents must deal with the authorities... they cannot just "put a stop to it". You tell me, how do you go and get your kids and move to another state once they have been removed from your custody?
Yep. Damo knows the truth of that which he speaks. I just went over testing procedures with my 7th and 8th graders and checked out our equipment (Chromebooks) to make sure it is adequately updated to administer the state tests today. Took away a day of instruction. Must be Spring.Have you ever read the ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act)? Passed in 2015 it replaced NCLB (No Child Left Behind). Under ESSA, states must administer annual assessments in reading and math for students in grades 3-8 and once in high school, as well as science tests at least once in each of three grade spans (3-5, 6-9, 10-12). These tests are a condition for states to receive Title I funds, which support schools with high percentages of low-income students... about $16 billion annually in recent years.
Yes. In some states they have removed children from the parents citing "child abuse" laws because the parents would not recognize gender dysphoria. You must ignore any news source that doesn't give you warm fuzzies and talk about how the orange man is bad...OH so they are kidnapping them and doing anything they want and nobody is doing anything about it.
Kidnapping is against tha law and if they are doing it when the kids do get out they should report it to the cops.
You are indeed much more tolerant than meWell, that's easy... Teaching isn't a walk in the park...but my former students were worth the time and effort...and I enjoyed teaching them... There are a few liberals here worth my time...I message them privately...
The others I just very patiently tolerate...![]()
Maybe you will get lucky and get extra funding if funds are sent back to the state. Personally I'd like to see the funds follow the student.Yep. Damo knows the truth of that which he speaks. Our school is over 90% Title I kids so it is a big deal … we depend greatly on that funding. I also saw that Jarod had said the parents/kids could opt out. While this is true (at least for Oklahoma), the school gets dinged for it. When you’re already a school that both the Democrats and Republicans would like to see close (very small) one or two opt outs is a big deal as well.
If I said I wasn’t nervous about what Trump and company are doing with the DOE I’d be lying. But what has been happening thus far isn’t working for most of us. There is LOTS of bureaucracy and red tape for receiving Federal funding. So much so that a lot of schools hire an extra employee or pay someone already employed extra just to make sure the school stays in compliance. So while I am a bit nervous I’m willing to stay quiet and see what they do.
Teaching your kids to cheat is a bad thing.I likely cheat the system. I have no problem with cheating such a system that puts burdens on my kids that are unreasonable.
