Trump tariffs create budget surplus

Simplistic and stupid. Most of the things we import are not made here. Go back to my Walmart jeans examples. Trump's tariffs just raised those $25 jeans to $28. (not exact figure; this is an example.) First off, it will be hard to convince a manufacturer to open and staff a jeans-making factory here. Too expensive, too little return. Let's say that one does. But now he has to pay his workers American wages, not the near-slave-labor wages of Sri Lanka or even China. How much do you think those $28 Walmart jeans will cost now? Ditto for everything else we import now -- fridges, appliances, tools, materials, electronics. The only makers who will benefit will be those already up and running, like the auto makers.

I don't know why I bother. You're a cultist who thinks she knows everything about everything. Because Fox told you so.
Perfect example of how stupid you really are, I think this might be a rare example of your own attempt at thinking. You're waving your simplistic Walmart jeans sob story like it’s a checkmate. Let’s unpack your galaxy-sized ignorance and your shameless admission that you’re totally fine with exploiting dirt-poor workers in foreign sweatshops for your $25 denim fix. That’s right, you’re out here cheering for near-slave-labor wages in Sri Lanka or China, whining over a $3 tariff hike while ignoring the human cost of your cheapo wardrobe. Truly a humanitarian of the year contender.

Your logic’s flimsier than those bargain-bin jeans you’re obsessed with. Tariffs don’t just slap a few bucks on prices, they’re designed to make foreign goods less competitive, nudging manufacturers to set up shop here. You whined that it’s “too expensive” to open a jeans factory in America, as if we’re some industrial backwater incapable of competing. Newsflash, genius, America’s got the innovation, tech, and workforce to outshine any sweatshop, even with higher wages. You think paying Americans a living wage means we can’t make affordable goods? That’s not just defeatist, it’s laughably dumb. Automation, efficiency, and economies of scale can keep costs down, something your brain apparently can’t compute.

Your assumption that only existing players like automakers benefit is peak libtard myopia. Tariffs incentivize new factories for appliances, tools, electronics, you name it, creating jobs and cutting reliance on foreign dumps. Those $28 jeans? They’ll stabilize as domestic production ramps up, and we won’t be propping up exploitative regimes while doing it. Unlike you, we believe America can compete without screwing over workers here or abroad. So, take your “too expensive, too little return” whining and stuff it in your knockoff purse, you’re not just showing us all how stupid you really are, you’re embarrassing yourself with that outdated, globalist drivel. Try thinking beyond your Walmart receipt for once. Oh, just ask me nicely and I'll give you the 3 bucks.

By the way, you can make jeans in the US...

I tend to doubt the story....given how high the deficit was the month before, and how little money the tariffs bring in, this seems like a matter of how the debt is sequenced if it is not a straight up lie.

LOL, She's not too bright, I think we all know that much.

There is no way, none, that 90% + of what Trump does is bad / negative / awful / terrible. Yet the MSM portrays EVERYTHING he does as a disaster, mistake, misstep, you-name-it.

For example, the MSM, and every Trump hater on this board, excoriated him for budget cuts to the NWS which they uniformly claimed resulted in no warnings to the locals. When that line of lies and bullshit blew up in their faces, they changed to his "failure" to visit the disaster in a timely fashion. Now that he's in Texas at the site, they'll switch to something new and equally negative.

It never stops with the MSM's utter and complete contempt for and hatred of Trump.
Yeah, Hitler had that same problem. The MSM treated him like shit...never said a good word about him.

The MSM is bad that way. So very prejudice.

Problem with tariffs is that they never work, and with the chaos confusion aspect this President adds, they certainly aren’t going to work this time either, and especially near the levels needed to pay off the big beautiful bill

And the “plan” that more will be invested in the U.S. is risky at best, all these “big deals” Trump photo shoots are missing details, and none of that is by accident. Besides, any new plant built will be operated by AI, not human labor
Had any Democrat suggested implementing tariffs you know TA and all the trump sychophants would be shreiking about what a stupid idea tariffs are. TA is one of the more reasonable ones and even he is carrying the cult's water.

"Democrats get pissed if not everyone's in lockstep"? that was the tipping point. They'll never be reasonable!

Not true and you know it.

Not true and you know it.
I "know it"? I just explained why I feel it's 100% true. The only reason you're shilling for this tax on consumers is because you hate Democrats so much, you've got to overcompensate for your party's incompetence and treason.

You know what makes me sure? After your "Democrats are pissed at anyone not in lockstep".. I posted several names (not all) of the Republicans who were retaliated against for daring to speak truth to power and call trump out and you totally ignored it. Why? It's flies in the face of your prejudiced narrative. "Democrats are evil".

Sorry, man. Feel sorry for you a bit.

What tariffs? Trump may or may not have 2 in place. He promised 90 in 90 days. The Brit tariff has barely started. The Vietnam one has not been finalized. So where is all this revenue the goofy Trumps are talking about coming from? Trump claims he will have many in place Aug. 1st. Does he mean they are sending him money in advance? This is not Aug. 1st. So where is this budget balancing revenue coming from?
It does not exist and this thread is total BS.

The thread is not BS, because it is a claim of official Washington.

The claim is likely however either BS or manufactured......a narrative war operation not reality.

Your jean price went up because they need more denim to cover your even expanding rear end. Are you suggesting we don't have the technology to make jeans? Remember there is also a savings in not having to ship them around the world. Why would you want slaves making your jeans. That is just evil.

100% I was going to post something similar but addressing her is like throwing pearls to swine.
