At the time, in the 40's to 60's, Massachusetts centered around MIT down to NY where GE was operating, was the "Silicon Valley" of the US. Then it moved to California, and now it's moving to Arizona and Texas. Both times in the past, it was the shift Left in politics of the state that killed off the Golden Goose just as happened to Detroit "Motor City."They're idiots. It's hilarious when they run around claiming' blue states are better educated n stuff' and then they babble completely stupid stuff.
The pattern is: An industry springs up and brings with it great wealth. Politics shifts to the Left and the politicians start milking their cash cow for social-welfare programs and other socialist-like wants that generate little or no ROI. This attracts the worthless who seek 'free' benefits from the government. The taxes and regulations imposed by the Left cause industry to flee and the city or region goes into steep decline. Leftist politicians seek help and bailouts from higher levels of government to keep their programs going but the inevitable decline goes on and everything turns to shit.
