Have you ever held someone down and cut off their hair?

Like most people, and especially people who rise to the level of being President of the United States, LBJ was a very complex person. It's true that in some ways he was an "asshole", but he was also a man with a fierce belief in equality. That was real, and it was also there since his childhood.

People who think in black and white terms can rarely, if ever, gain a true insight into anyone.

Apples & oranges. You are talking about 2 completely different behaviors; one that is self-destructive, and another that is malicious toward others.

And I agree about his response. It is not credible AT ALL that he doesn't remember an incident like that, unless his incidents of malicious bullying were so frequent that it just got lost in the shuffle....

LMAO @ malicious bullying...

It's really quite pathetic that we're even having this discussion.

But what else can we expect from Jughead?

Faux... outrage

I am usually outraged when I hear about someone committing Aggrivated Battery with a Deadly Weapon. Even if it was 50 years later, if they pretend they cant remember or worse, really dont remember!

True, but he also escalated Vietnam, something I have always hated about him, another case of lying us into a war.

Darla, did you read Steve Jobs' book?

I haven't, do you recommend it. Oddly, biographies usually aren't my cup of tea.

I'm just over halfway through but I think it is amazing. Part of the reason may be because I'm a Bay Area person and Apple and the Silicon Valley are all in the Bay Area. But that is only part of the appeal. Steve Jobs is another of one these 'complex' personalities. The man was a brilliant visionary who demanded perfection. He was also a complete asshole in how he treated other people especially his children.

I did see that on a program they ran after his death, not about his children, most unfortunate, but how he treated his employees.
