Agreed. It's understandable even if it's not condonable. Wouldn't a good person tell him that he's only hurting himself with such concerns?
You know that passion can be admirable, but it must be focused. Not some idiot wildly swinging haymakers in a bar. I respect people who stand up for what they believe in, but I admire people who can actually focus that passion intellectually and logically.
I understand people abusing others is wrong. I can even understand that a full grown adult who has been constantly abused would lash out at even innocent people. What I do not do is condone abusing others simply because one person claimed they were abused by someone else.
Truth is easy to recognize even though there are plenty of nutjobs on JPP screaming "masks don't work". Apparently, and I don't want to be judgy here, some people can't recognize truth if it ran them over with a truck.

Agreed. I worked closely with a large group of gays (male flight attendants) for over 28 years. Just people. Some had a chip on their shoulder, most did not.
Most were not overtly gay, others were more frank about it. A couple of our pilots were gay. One was a trans..and the world's ugliest woman I shit you not. I'd be comatose from alcohol on the amount it would take me to fuck something that ugly.
The bottom line is that at work, like religion, it rarely came up as long as it didn't affect work such as Displace Aggression with fellow crew members or passengers.

I view it as a struggle between those who have realized the bigger picture, and the need to take corrective action, attempting to inform those who will not listen, and are convinced they know better.
The dichotomy is impacted by shallow greedy capitalists who have stumbled upon a method to produce great wealth by feeding BS to the right.

IMO the #1 quality of Incels is Entitlement. Most normal people think they are special, but Incels think they are more special than others. Even to the point where they'll commit rape and/or murder. No doubt they steal too but that aspect doesn't come up very often compared to the murder/rape thing.

I tend to agree with your observation and will add that's it's an old problem in human culture: a split between that haves and the have nots, often determined by intelligence but with social structures that preserve the haves who take advantage of the have nots.
The "shallow greedy capitalists" are no different than the Euro aristocracy and leadership of religious or secular institutions that ruled Europe for 2000 years. It's human nature in an environment where resources are limited. The same old fight depicted at the beginning of 2001 a Space Odyssey - only one group can possess the water hole.
In this scenario, the "water hole" is the United States - the world's greatest superpower with the greatest economy....for the moment.
FWIW, I do believe humanity is socially evolving for the better. Many problems stem from the same old problem: limited resources to be shared.

Greedy capitalism has no interest in poverty reduction.
In the case of the greedy capitalist right wing talk pundits like Tucker Carlson, there is more money to be made by blaming the poor for their own condition than there is by advocating for a sensible solution.
And during the pandemic there is more money to be made by essentially telling people they should help the pandemic spread, than by urging them to do the right thing.
And the really dumb thing about greedy capitalism is it prevents capitalism from doing so much better. If we reigned in the pandemic, the economy would do better. When we reduce poverty, the economy does better. It's so ironic. Greed prevents more success.

I would like to get along with Dutch, but it doesn't seem to be in the cards. I spent a lot of time as a Catholic. I don't like false authority, condescension, and mansplaining. That Dutch's MO.
I don't know whether or not he actually thinks I hate white straight men. He says a lot of things he doesn't mean. My guess is that he has perceived my attitude toward the privilege and predominant caveman attitude and behaviors of most white straight American men. That's not too broad a brush. If the shoe fits, wear it. (I'm just using the saying, not directing it at you.) Either through unintentionally misunderstanding my meaning (less likely) or intentionally misrepresenting it to use the word "hate" as a lazy attack against me (trolling) (more likely), he has equated my dislike of privilege and bro culture with hate. Either way, he's wrong.
