You make huge unfounded assumptions. Where did I say I favored free funding for babysitting? Pre-kindergarten programs usually include educational programs--I only asked what is the difference between willingness to support elementary and secondary education and pre-k? There is no difference in principle, only in policy choices.

There is nothing in my posts which state we should fund either pre-k or higher education (although we already fund a large part of higher education and numerous babysitting programs.

You made the simplistic assumption that I favored funding these programs and labeled me liberal because I have the common sense to recognize funding public school education is no different in principle than funding pre-k or child care services.

That is why this poll of people being asked what they prefer regarding either Socialism or Free Enterprise is about as useless as teets on a crocodile! This was a poll taken to deliberately mislead and inflame the public. Scare baiting at it's best- Something to get the Republicans panties all in a Nasty Wad and give them fuel for their fires- A total distraction!

For one thing, the answers are taken out of context. Many people are OK with safety valve Social programs- and have no problem at all with paying into them all of their working lives. After all, people vote to have these programs made available.

So, not to rain on anyone's parade here today, but most of the people being asked if they like social programs like Social Security and Medicare, they would say yes.

So if that is why so may people are saying they like Socialism- it is because they want systems like this in place because they are acceptable to them.

I have never heard another American ever say, "I want a complete Socialistic Government here in America"!

Nor do I believe that this Poll accurately reflects that 49% of Americans want a total Socialistic driven government.

You obviously have no children.
When I took my 13 month old child to day care/child care, it’s a babysitting service while my wife and I go to work.
They were changing his diaper, feeding him a bottle and putting him down for a nap.
This is totally different than taxpayer funded secondary education.
As I previously stated taxpayers should not have to pay for this service if the parents can afford it. We already subsidize day care for low income wage earners.

Agreed, although we already do pay for many of these programs. We even pay college students for child care that allow their parent or some friend (who may already be keeping them free) to receive the money.

Do you think taxpayers should pay for pre-k where kids get the same kind of education as kindergarten and no diapers are changed?

The poll should ask:
Are you willing to vote for someone that will raise taxes to 50% (so we can be like the Scandinavian countries) and receive free healthcare and free higher education and all the other entitlements (just like the Scandinavian countries)?

I have no problem paying for Pre-k (via tax dollars) if it were run by the school district.
I do have a problem paying for Pre-k (if someone can afford it) if it’s being run by a day care/child care business.

For low income, we are paying for Pre-k through the head start program.
