Peace is peace and war is war. A "cease fire" is just both sides regrouping and reloading. If Biden wants unity, he should lead by example.

If the Democrats want unity they'll follow his example. If they want vengeance, they'll draw their blood, then offer the olive branch while standing over the bodies of the sacrificial Republicans.

Get a grip, Matt. It ain't happening for one main reason: Like it or not, most people are too happy. They are unwilling to quit their jobs, burn down their homes and go war.

The conditions for war are not right. A few idiots in the streets or even inside the Capitol is not a war, civil or otherwise. It's just a riot filled with knuckleheads who will most likely end up in prison.
