That said, I do expect that what you call 'big pharma' is doing and has done what you'd expect any company to do. They have an obligation to do whatever's within the law, to increase profits. Corporations are just collections of people who all have an interest in the company's success. The plumber who sends part of his paycheck into a mutual fund that includes a pharmaceutical company wants as big a profit as possible for his retirement fund.

To address corporate behavior that many could have issues with, we could do what we're entitled to do, work to change the rules or laws. Just as we really can't blame the countries that have been taking advantage of our 'stupid' (or corrupt) politicians for ages, who can blame them? They've only doing what's best for their people. That of course, is about to change.

Did you understand my previous comments regarding corporations behavior and why they do so? It's not some figurehead with an evil streak trying to ruin the world, they're doing what's best to grow net profits. If it's discovered that evil actions result in terrible outcomes that affect their customer base negatively, the companies value will drop from a sell off of shares. It's the best way in an imperfect world with imperfect systems and imperfect people. The reality is there is no better system that's ever existed in human history, so grow up and deal with it.

This is the problem with paranoia, and reading whatever bullshit whack jobs read. They don't have 'blanket freedom from prosecution for product liability,' however they do have protections from lawsuits, including vaccines which I'm guessing is what you're all triggered about. Manufacturers can be sued if there's evidence of willful misconduct, that may actually be found is some cases with Covid vaccines. If anyone could sue for any real or perceived side effects or even deaths, there would be a never ending flood of lawsuits and nobody in their right minds would spend huge sums of money to develop potentially life saving drugs. The same goes for any drug. We all have the same ability to ask questions, do our own research, and make a decision accordingly. Lawsuits like you think should be allowed, over time, would result in killing more people than bad side effects tenfold. It's not difficult to understand once you come down from whatever drugs you're on.

The WHO has no authority to force anyone to wear a mask. They can only suggest.

The CDC has a lot less authority than you would think. Local, and state governments have a bit more. The main group with authority to ban entry without a mask is the doctors themselves. Not much that you can do about that.

China tried a massive lockdown in a vain attempt to prevent its spread, even to the point of arresting citizens who were "illegally" out and about instead of holed up at home. Statistically -- since a virus has no way of knowing whether its host is rich or poor, powerful or powerless -- elites were infected as well as non-elites. Odds are? So no, you can't say whether or not, or if any of the Chinese "elites" perished. Of course, some of the general population did, but do you think the "elites" actually cared? Herd immunity? I guess the vaccine had nothing to do with lessening the effects and increasing survival rates.
