Abortion Follies: Texas style

Exodus 21, the actual text....
22 “If people are fighting and hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely[e] but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined whatever the woman’s husband demands and the court allows. 23 But if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life, 24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25 burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise.

perhaps if the child dies, it might be considered a serious injury by anyone except a modern day lib'rul.....

It also says "hurt a woman with child", not "hurt the child":

22 If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.
23 And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,
24 Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
25 Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.

So Exodus is saying the welfare of the mother is what is most important.

"woman with child" is the direct object of the sentence, not "child".

Are you stupid? it never mentions the fruit died! I highlighted the important parts for you!

An already overcrowded option you mean.
An already overcrowded option full of abusers, both abusing the children themselves and also the government programs meant to help foster them.
Great... Let's reduce Earth's population then... YOU FIRST.

It says the fruit dies as a result of someone harming the woman.

So the woman is who the Bible is talking about there, not the fetus in her womb.

Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit.

how about the logic of saying we should let you kill them all because we let you kill them for six weeks........personally I think that once a woman knows there is someone to kill it should be illegal to kill them......

Yes, well the Constitution has never said that killing fetuses is murder. Just as a woman who intentionally does something to cause herself to miscarry is not considered murder. No woman has ever been tried for murder for that!

The Supreme court will remind you Trumptarded Religious zealots that!

The Bible may call it murder- which it clearly does not- but the Supreme Court clearly does not either.

Thou shalt not kill! The Bible (or the burning bush or whatever) is not very specific there.

Kill what? fetuses? Sperm cells? How many sperm cells did you kill just last night Wanker? Do you think your God wants you wasting your precious baby making sperm cells all over your computer screen and leaving them to just die?

What is good for the gander should be good for the goose too you Taliban Trumptarded zealot!

It don't matter- The Bible is not the Constitution anyhow!

"Unborn child" is a paradox.

Judaism, which forms the basis of Christianity, says a person has no soul until they're born.

You can't be "unborn" and a "child".
Ask a mother who's suffered a miscarriage if she lost her child....
An unborn child....

Do you have children? When did you begin to recognize and care for them as your child? Right after they were born and not sooner?

She lost the fetus, and you would criminalize her for doing so.
She lost her baby...why would anyone criminalize her for suffering a miscarriage? Ask someone who's experienced a miscarriage...they don't say they "lost a fetus"....
