I've always said they're rioters. I've called the whole thing a "Three-hour riot." What's new about that? As for your question, who knows? Rioters do what rioters do. Why do rioters loot and vandalize businesses that have nothing to do with what they are protesting? Why do rioters attack people who have nothing to do with their protest?

All of us have said they were rioters. I've said they were stupid rioters. Hell, they were unorganized and unarmed (well, maybe a pocket knife or two) and just left after doing a bunch of damage and milling around. Nothing even close to an insurrection.

No pretend needed. We have videos showing how violent the attack was. We have over 140 cops injured. We have 1.6 million damaged the capital. We have videos of people smashing cops with weapons they brought, bear spraying them, and making weapons of things they broke off. It was extremely violent. The videos speak for themselves. What the Trumpys did was also proven in court about a thousand times. You Trumpys should be ashamed of yourselves.

Al Gore mounted all sorts of legal and media challenges to the 2020 election. Democrats contested Trump's 2016 electoral college victory. Were these insurrections?

The real definition of an "insurrection" would be to flash forward to 2016 when the FBI spied on Trump's campaign, transition, and administration. Using a fabricated dossier, which the FBI knew was false, they swore the opposite to obtain FISA warrants to spy on Trump and his associates, from campaign to presidency. All to prevent or overthrow an established government, the definition of insurrection.

There are Twitter Files implicating the CDC, NIH, and FDA in colluding with Twitter to shape the COVID narrative to damage President Trump ahead of the 2020 election and to promote their self-serving command and control mandates, not to mention financial gain. How is that for insurrection?

So what happened was, twump knew he was losing months before the election. He solicited wing nut theories about a "stolen election" from any nutbag that would listen, such as the Pillow guy and Sidney whatshername who he almost made a Special Counsel.

Your desperation to whitewash what happened is similar to Holocaust denying which is also something twumptars are doing now. Twumptards and Nazis work from the same playbook.

Pales in comparison to the radical Leftist protests that went on for more than a year across the country causing billions in damage and loss to cities and towns big and small. I also think that someone, some family, having their lifetime of work and effort reduced to this by those same riotous, violent, radical Leftists is far more disastrous than the capitol being burned to the ground.

One is small, but means everything to those who lost it. The other is a veritable Taj Mahal of vanity to a bunch of people we elected to do the nation's business. The later can go do it somewhere else just a poorly as they now do it at the Capitol building. Their personal loss is minimal.
It is people working hard every day that make our nation great, not pompous, self-aggrandizing, politicians who are in all reality nobodies outside of having the privilege to represent us.

If you think that the most important thing is having a strong central government that is unquestionable and unaccountable, then you need to seriously reevaluate your moral compass...

I have no idea what the intent was. Many of the so-called "insurrectionists" were let into the building by capitol police and just wandered around then left. Others were clearly just there to be rowdy and do crazy stuff like buffalo horn guy. So, from what I can see motives varied wildly and there was no clear intent or single-mindedness of the mob.

Sorry, Terry, but I'm going with the courts on this one. All the convictions and plea deals indicate they were attempting to overthrow the US government and keep Trump as President...no matter how many in Congress they had to murder along with the VP.

Do you think all the Republicans who testified under oath were lying? What about those who refused to testify under oath? What are they hiding?

Why do you think that is a fair comparison? It is not. You rightys were merely trying to overthrow the government and establish Trump as a permanent leader. It was the end of the American system you sought. What could be worse? I have no idea where your picture is from, but rest assured, it was the cops who attacked first. In the capitol. it was you guys who attacked the police and the politicians. The Trumpys on 1-6 were exactly in opposition to the continuance of America. What is bigger than that?

There was no Holocaust by Trump. Trump did not condone the riot. Election fraud by Democrats has been a problem for decades. It was so bad that the 2020 election faulted. It happened yet AGAIN in the 2022 'elections' in several States.
