I said nothing about any gun laws which could help the situation. America is just a more violent country than others minus gun. States are free to pass more restrictive gun laws and some have done so--longer waiting periods, banning assault weapons, gun registration.

I mean elected officials are afraid to pass tougher gun laws because the voters do not want them. There must not be an "election-fixing" committee in the states because some states do have much tougher gun laws than others because the people want them. In many they do not and the states do not pass those laws. The voters always have more power than the NRA or any other group.
