Adam Kokesh, Pro-Gun Activist, Calls For 'Revolutionary Army' To Demand Nationwide Se

I thought perhaps it might be because of the helmet he has to wear at all times to keep from hurting himself.

Saw a guy walking through Smokey Bones restaurant wearing a bicycle helmet the other day and of course immediately thought of SF and Mott as they're the only bike riders i know. Didn't know SF had to wear one all the time. Really could have been him ... except he probably wouldn't have chosen that type of restaurant.

Sorry SF ... Couldn't resist joining in the ribbing while it was good natured. ;) The described incident is all true though.

It's kind of bizarre, I have conservative friends who are saying the most bizarrely anti-patriotic things that even I wouldn't say. It's like, hey there, aren't I supposed to be the one that hates America? I miss the old days.

I absolutely don't hate US. To say I'm not apprehensive about the direction we're heading would be a lie though.

says the morn how doesn't understand the 1st Amendment or thinks that it only applies to liberals.

Well, free speech wouldn't apply to, for instance, instigating a riot, under the current interpretation. But calling for some kind of distant revolution would be protected. This does kind of blur the lines, I suppose. But I don't it's going to lead to anything, if there really are armed guards that form and start marching in front of governor's offices and trying to intimidate them, and he continues to egg them on, then it would probably apply. As of now, not really.

that does add to the difficulties.

At least you know when you've been one-upped! Though I don't know why you even bother you know I am always more quick-witted than you - and then add in Rana on my side batting cleanup and hitting them out of the park, why do you even make these attempts?

Because I know how important it is for you to believe the above is actually true.

I think I was, indeed, wrong about that part, so I apologize. If you follow an order that's obviously illegal, such as "shoot this unarmed elderly villager here", you're going to be charged with murder.

No worries brother... if we cannot laugh at/mock ourselves, who can we laugh at/mock?

Now you this guy who charmed you has charmed you into lying.

Darla: I can't tell you how hot this guy is. His politics were always a bit different than mine, but I'm sad to see he's gone bats now. He was a hottie big time when I knew him. That was circa 06, 07. Oh well. I just checked and the winter soldier hearings that I covered as a reporter for a blog, were in march of 08. And that is when I got to know him much better. Wow, it seems so long ago I thought it was 04 originally. It's like another life to me now. This brought back a lot of memories and made me really sad, I heard he had gone off but I had no idea how badly. I just did some looking around. That is too bad.

If I had interviewed Sarah Palin and called her hot no one would bat an eye.

what an awesome wonderful thread. I can't believe I haven't read it before now.

  1. darla defending a cool libertarian. Realizes that people are human and you can't just dehumanize every person with whom you disagree.
  2. bfgrn going epileptic, and being sexist because "in my day women shut their fucking mouths and didn't talk about how they were attracted to men!" (paraphrased)
  3. sty mass-thanking darla.
  4. darla talking about how she posted as a conservative and realized how dumb liberals are.
haven't read page 2 yet!

If you had someone who you used to be friends with but you fell out of touch, but you had fond memories of them and stuff you did together, wouldn't you defend them against accusations that they are Hitler AND Osama Bin Laden?? I mean, the guy hasn't freaking killed anyone here, or caused anyone's death here. He said some shit.

He talked! I don't agree with what he said, but I also can't agree he is a monster. If he ever does something, that would be different. I never saw anything like this, I am totally flabbergasted.

His point is imbecilic. Hitler and Osama Bin Laden directly controlled and lead organizations responsible for murder, and gave orders that resulted in deaths. Giving orders that lead to someone's murder is the moral equivalent of murder, that's obvious. This guy does not lead any such organization nor has he given any orders to anyone, he's just spouting some nonsense about a distant "revolution", and he specifically used the words "non-violent" as well. Even if somehow people were immediately inspired by his words and, ignoring the "non-violent" bit, murdered someone, he would not be the moral equivalent of Hitler or Osama Bin Laden. His point is just asinine, he hasn't put a second of thought into his argument.

No one CALLED for you death. Just several us said we might be a little excited by it.

Well, I fear that I must follow the dictates of my hero:

"The entire party and country should hurl into the fire and break the neck of anyone who dared trample underfoot the sacred edict of the party on the defense of women's rights."—Enver Hoxha, 1967

So, sadly, it appears that a fire hurling and subsequent neck-breaking is in order, once the impending socialist revolution has been accomplished.

So you think the founding fathers would compare the current form of government THEY created, to the oppressive monarchy, divine right of kings government they broke away from?

The question of divine right had long been settled by the time of the American revolution in favor of parliament. The revolutionaries primary qualms were with parliament, the loyalty many felt to the King was, if anything, one thing that stayed their hands for so long, and the King actually had very little power over the war. And, perhaps I have been made cynical by modern history, but what happened in the colonies wasn't really that oppressive in the long scales of history. What did happen was that the colonies and the Island grew apart culturally, the parliament failed to adopt to the changing times. They didn't consider giving them home rule or extending parliamentary representation to the American colonies, because there wasn't any sort of precedent for that in British history (indeed, constituency boundaries wouldn't actually be redrawn from their centuries old state until the mid-1800's, doing something as like adding on perhaps hundreds of new ones in a different part of the world was a lot more radical than that). So, they just stuck with the status quo, which consisted of ruling the colonies by fiat.

The colonies didn't particularly like this at any time, but they rebelled when parliament decided to pass a series of punishments, and soon the British government discovered how difficult it was to wage a massive trans-atlantic war in those days. Their treatment of the colonies, of course, wasn't horrific by historical standards, but they were white, wealthy, armed Anglo-Saxons and they could do something about whatever grievances they may have, while the poor Africans in the Congo had little ability to do anything about the Belgians whether despite the fact that the treatment they received was much much worse, and would've likely received little international recognition or support even if they had due to their black skin (just look at the international reception Haiti received vs. that of the United States).

LOL I guess when you put it that way, it is pretty funny. Though I didn't think so at the time.
