Understandable, but that was over two hundred years ago when the States at least were connected geographically and had a lot more in common culturally, plus those same people thought the Third Amendment was important and the direct election of those Senators outside of the electoral process was vital

It is never going to change unless the US went to Parliamentary Gov't, which ain't happening anytime soon, but it isn't democratic
