America Is Losing Religious Faith

One does not have to be a religious person to understand that killing an unborn child is evil.

Millions of unborn children were killed during the unConstitutional Roe vs. Wade era.

There was never an enumerated Constitutional right to abortion yet the killing continued for decades.

MY religion has stated, specifically, for 3000 years, that life begins with breath and abortion is NOT ‘murder’.

I imagine that since he was honest about how old he is and what he's been through he's quite comfortable with his faith... why does that bother you?

As I told you before, Nancy. This is a public forum. If one wishes to place their ignorance on display here, they should expect responses.

This guy claims his god has saved his life from a couple of cancers and heart attack. Of course, no mention of the REAL saviors, the doctors and nurses. His god gave him shitty health. I merely pointed out that MY god has kept me healthy.

Looks like I made the right choice in deities, didn’t I?

Your God didn't bless you with a good heart, mind, and soul... so the fact that you are physically healthy as you claim and running alone really doesn't mean very much... and for what it's worth I'm sure that the gentleman gives credit to both God and His caregivers for allowing him to battle and Conquer his cancers... of course that's just my humble opinion...

Nobody is killing an unborn child. 30 percent of pregnancies stop on their own, so god is the biggest aborter. Bringing an unwanted child into a poor home with druggies or brutal parents is an act of cruelty. Forcing an unwanted child to be born to a wealthy girl is disastrous too. There are rare exceptions, but as a rule, we are forcing kids to be pushed into a home where they are not wanted and cannot thrive. The "Christians" have no intention of providing health care, education food and shelter for these unwanted children.
They will fight to produce more jails for them though.

Based on available state-level data, approximately 977,000 abortions took place in the United States in 2021.

Those are acts of cruelty.

The unborn child has Civil Rights too, the right to live.

There are ways to prevent unwanted pregnancies.

Sure he did. Especially the mind part, which doesn’t give in to myth and superstition.

My mind tells me that his is the Christian god. Probably yours, too. That same god that supposedly saved him also made him suffer through cancer and a heart attack. That same god allows innocent children to die in unspeakable misery throughout the world. Pretty shitty god that would do that.

Now, my god of the universe is neutral. Doesn’t give a shit whether you or I live or die or even exist in the first place. Spinosa’s god. Einstein’s god. The rational mind’s god.

Health, with running being a part of it, means a lot. One can be spiritual and not be religious. On a trail, all alone at sunrise, chugging along can give one an appreciation of being alive and healthy to enjoy those things. No god necessary.

We'll just have to agree to disagree and that's okay... I'm glad I'm not you and I might imagine that he feels the same way... and that's okay... Miracles and myths and superstition... why do those bother you so? if you don't believe don't believe... and if you feel it necessary to mock those who do we'll forgive you...

Why do you have the need to post your miracles, myths and superstitions on a political forum? On a public forum?

Didn’t your Jesus dude tell you to practice your shit in private?

And, the feeling is mutual. I’m so glad I have a mind to sort through the bullshit and not some blind faith in a god that allows such suffering. Nothing to reconcile there

As you mentioned this is a free forum... the only blindness on display here is your inability to see and recognize the differences in everyone's lives... and to realize that whatever we choose to believe should be respected... I don't think anyone has asked you to celebrate and expect what they choose to believe... it would be nice to be respectful though... but if you can't I understand...

Naw, ignorance need not be respected. Especially public display of it.

Have we come to a consensus on the faith issue?

These threads get too long for a thorough examination,
but nobody seems to have a condensed recap.

That's strange because usually,
when we have a long discussion,
everyone is satisfied with the collective conclusion.

Two weeks ago, there was a 16 year old boy struck and killed in the crosswalk just outside my work.

I don’t have to reconcile that tragedy, nor any other pain and suffering of innocents, with my god.

I'm fine...;) We all have a right to our beliefs. And a right to be respected.. there's always a few who refuse to understand that and put aside their deep personal anger to have an adult discussion... that is an unusual around here...

But it's not ignorance...that's the point...;)
Your opinion is but a tiny one as is mine in this great big wonderful world...

In children, Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny are ignorance. Innocent ignorance, but ignorance nonetheless.

Now, if they continue to believe after rational inquiry tells them otherwise, it’s no longer innocent ignorance, it’s willful ignorance. Something that is best not publicly displayed.

Not sure how you pulled transgender = ignorance out of your ass, but you managed to somehow.

Congrats, only a special kind of a moron would attempt that.
He's a little confused about his sexuality so he, a standard issue American white male aged 50-65, represses and becomes extreme against any innermost feelings that conflict with his "Leave it to Beaver" fantasy of American culture. So, in a way, he did pull it out of his ass. :)

Arbie is a little slow but a highly skilled auto mechanic and machinist.

Arbie is a little slow is an understatement
