An Alternative To The Elector College

That was also a primary factor. There were several including what I said.

There will be approximately 140 million votes cast in this election. Biden will get 70 million. If we used popular vote, that means 3 of the largest States would provide 20%+ of Biden's total. The founders wanted to prevent things like that.

Here's a crazy idea:

Let's get rid of states entirely.

Each American should be allotted a number of votes depending on certain variables.

For example, the lower the tax bracket you fall into, the more votes you get, which would give the poor an edge against the wealthy, who have large amounts of money to influence elections.

If you're educated, you get another vote. Maybe +1 vote for a bachelor's degree and +2 for an advanced degree.

So, a tyranny by those favored versus those less favored. Maybe the wealthy could just count as 3/5th's of a vote each like slaves used to. Will any groups be excluded like say women were for a very long time?

I'd say your bigotry and lack of historical perspective is showing.

More fair would be having to earn your right to vote. That means those that are on welfare or otherwise not gainfully employed get no vote. They are living on the good graces of others. Serving in the military or public service would give you a right to a vote for your having served your country. Criminals should not have the right to vote until their sentence is completed and they've repaid their economic debt to society.

The easiest fix is that electoral college votes are apportioned by state between the two parties like Kansas and Maine do. No more winner take all.

We should have mandatory voting. Non-voters should pay a fine. Then everyone will have a right to speak. With mail-in it makes even more sense.

No, you don't get to amend the Constitution.
