And they don’t understand why Kapernick took a knee.

Bet urban black children weren't taught that, and for good reason.

You most likely are correct.
But isn't that terrible for parents to teach their children to be afraid of the police. What a great way to set your child up for failure or worse.
But by the same token I bet the views of cops is totally different in black dominated urban neighborhoods versus white or mixed race urban neighborhoods.
The next thing we must look at when talking about police shootings. A cop makes a stop in a low crime neighborhood versus a high crime neighborhood. When confronted by the suspect in which neighborhood would the cop be more likely to darw and fire his weapon. Clearly the high crime neighborhood.

We want to blame racism but is that an over simplification? It is a fact that high crime urban neighborhoods are predominantly black. So by sheer numbers the odds favor a black being shoot.
There is doubtless racism in this country and in many if not all urban police departments.
But is it fair to say stop racism and police shootings will stop. I think not.

The biggest barrier to police reform are the police unions. And that's coming from many liberal groups. So ultimately it's what you feel is more important, the power of unions or police reforms.

What a load of shit.

Racist whites don't want police reform. .

If you have ever voted republican THIS IS WHAT YOU SUPPORT.

You support tough on crime laws that target Black Americans

The false stats about Black crime in america is used to create fear for white americans into supporting this agenda.

Stop voting for the racist right if you claim your not racist.
‘Lock the S.O.B.s Up’: Joe Biden and the Era of Mass Incarceration

He now plays down his role overhauling crime laws with segregationist senators in the ’80s and ’90s. That portrayal today is at odds with his actions and rhetoric back then.

WASHINGTON — In September 1994, as President Bill Clinton signed the new Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act in an elaborately choreographed ceremony on the south lawn of the White House, Joseph R. Biden Jr. sat directly behind the president’s lectern, flashing his trademark grin.

For Mr. Clinton, the law was an immediate follow-through on his campaign promise to focus more federal attention on crime prevention. But for Mr. Biden, the moment was the culmination of his decades-long effort to more closely marry the Democratic Party and law enforcement, and to transform the country’s criminal justice system in the process. He had won.

“The truth is,” Mr. Biden had boasted a year earlier in a speech on the Senate floor, “every major crime bill since 1976 that’s come out of this Congress, every minor crime bill, has had the name of the Democratic senator from the State of Delaware: Joe Biden.”

Now, more than 25 years later, as Mr. Biden makes his third run for the White House in a crowded field of Democrats — many calling for ambitious criminal justice reform — he must answer for his role in legislation that criminal justice experts and his critics say helped lay the groundwork for the mass incarceration that has devastated America’s black communities. That he worked with segregationists to write the bills — an issue that recently dominated the political news and seems likely to resurface in Mr. Biden’s first debate on Thursday — has only added to his challenge.

Mr. Biden apologized in January for portions of his anti-crime legislation, but he has largely tried to play down his involvement, saying in April that he “got stuck with” shepherding the bills because he was chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. But an examination of his record — based on newly obtained documents and interviews with nearly two dozen longtime Biden contemporaries in Washington and Delaware — indicates that Mr. Biden’s current characterization of his role is in many ways at odds with his own actions and rhetoric.

Damn, you should have saved this load of bullshit for your Victory Over COVID garden.

The reason why cops are seemingly more aggressive these days? Because of idiots like you who think that every citizen should be packing. They have no clue when there's an encounter with a suspect if they're going to get shot. That being said, there is *still* no excuse for excessive violence during an arrest whether the suspect is white, black, purple, or polka-dotted. Racism is still alive and well in America and despite your fiction otherwise, black suspects fare far worse than do whites.

They have been aggressive......they are now being caught on tape and exposed.

But the real problem is false crime stats that are believed throughout the country. The are used to justify jailing and murdering Black Americans.

Do you think the kops fear for their lives when approaching Blacks because the Black person might have a gun?

Do you think they fear for their lives when they approach white people?

Remember this?!!

I imagine that they fear for their lives when approaching non-whites because of the myth that black suspects are scarier and more dangerous than white perps.

I hadn't thought of the prevalence of video now -- good point. They can't hide their crimes against the public like they used to. Some states have even tried to ban videotaping the police. I wonder why? </sarcasm>

I have H. Moron on ignore but saw the post that you responded to, where he claims that the accused white student who has killed the man with a machete is hardly mentioned on U.S. news. Of course since he's hiding in his wife's basement in Thailand from the king, he really doesn't know jack about what goes on over here. lol

PS -- The accused killer is white, as was his victims.

poor tom he tries to insinuate himself into America, when in reality he is a rickshaw driver in the red light district advertising his wifes "business" and getting his knowledge of America from American TV shows :palm:

Even with video.........they still get a slap on the wrist.

The police unions, DA, prosecutors, judges always get them off. Likeminded americans always side with the kops.

You're welcome, although this doesn't appear to be compromising. hrc and Dementia Joe were quite proud of their achievement. And you know it.

What I do know is racism is the cornerstone of the racist right party. Moderate Dems have to compromise with them in order to get things done and Black and other minorities pay the price.

Racist whites are always accommodated in this country. .................see the open states protest.

It's the same sh*t over and over. Joe Biden co-wrote the '94 crime bill that a Democratic Congress passed and a Democratic President signed that put more black people behind bars than any other legislation. California is about as blue as it gets yet we've passed three strikes laws and all kinds of tough on crime measures over the years. If it was as simple vote Democratic and everything will change then it already would have occurred but it hasn't nor will it.

The irony is Libertarians have railed on the War on Drugs, the militarization of the police and the over crowding of prisons for decades yet they get no support. At the end of the day when you place loyalty to a political party over results things don't change.

Edit: And I'll go back to the police unions being the biggest roadblock for reform. A quick google search show will show a number of liberal groups writing about that. But it's a conundrum because they can't speak out against unions.

The kneeling is done during the national anthem and the flag display. A lot of good men and women have died for that flag and that anthem and what they represent.

Your concern is noted. Would you be as concerned if the policeman was black and the victim white?

No, of course you wouldn’t because you are a racist.

I hope Kaeperdick never works in the NFL again and it appears that he won’t.

A military veteran inspired Kaep to take a knee during the anthem so your argument doesn't fly, Mr. Earl. Clearly Nate Boyer doesn't think it's disrespectful.

"U.S. Army veteran Nate Boyer convinced Colin Kaepernick to kneel, rather than sit, while protesting police brutality during the national anthem."

Its the same shit because you racist fucks never change your toon.

I haven't heard 1 republican asshole apologize for their filthy crime bill. it's a FUCKIN BILL THEY INTRODUCED TO LAW. They are the tough on crime, for profit prison, racist fucks who's agenda is racism.

do some dems kiss their ass to please white people? fuck yea and that's why WE NEED TO MOVE TO MORE PROGRESSIVES who denouce the racist BS caused by the right. White america has been bowing down to these racist for decades for fear of being called a "liberal"

Your post just proves how fucking racist white america still is if they think Biden is the right candidate.
