Okay,

In the arctic a Dr. Whozawhatzit is studying temperature in relation to ice decay. He sends out a student to check the official temperature outside and radio back in because he is the Doctor and shouldn't have to walk a mile in the cold and dark.

The student radios back stating that it is negative forty degrees and states, "I forgot to check which setting I had on the thermometer, Celcius or Farenheit do I have to go back and redo it?"

The doctor, a very accurate and fastidious person replies, "No, don't bother, just get back in here!"

Why would the normally accurate doctor not care if he went back to recheck the data?

Celsius and Farenheit are the same, at negative 40 degrees

He's not mentally challenged. Meaning he didn't just walk 20 flights of stairs because he is retarded. He had a physical disability that prevented him from hitting the 37th floor button.
