Where do SYG laws say that is their intent?
I want law abiding people empowered to defend themselves from violent criminals.
What has that to do with parking spots?
Your dearth of knowledge is showing in your desperate straw man comments.
 
Police officers are forced to involve themselves in dangerous and stressful situations. Citizens are not. They can't do their job while fleeing even if their attacker is of little to no real threat. Their opportunities for mistake are much higher, but if they make one that should be dealt with.

I would hope that even a cop would use a taser, pepper spray, night stick or at the very least give fair warning to someone threatening him with a stick.

How is it they were not empowered to defend themselves before SYG? Show us the cases of some poor guy who was only defending himself and was convicted unfairly?

But citizens are more often the target of crims.
Why should the good guy die?

Because they had a duty to retreat.
That is to give growing to a criminal.
That is empowering the criminal!!

I've been arrested hundreds of times in a dozen countries.
No criminal record!!
