Not accurate. The charges are based on Manafort's actions up to and including in 2017. The NYT has a slide show of the actual indictment; you can read it for yourself.

  • It was a coincidence that there was an FBI investigation going on involving Russia’s corruption-fueled purchase of U.S uranium assets and which also happened to implicate the DEMOCRAT nominee for president.

  • It was a coincidence that this was kept hidden from Congress and the American people by DEMOCRAT Lynch and her predecessor, DEMOCRAT Eric Holder.

  • It was a coincidence that the investigation of this bribery, extortion, money laundering and kickback case was supervised by Robert Mueller, his successor James Comey, and Rod Rosenstein, all of whom appear to have covered it up but are now directly involved in the Trump probe.

  • It's a coincidence that Mueller is serving as special counsel in the Trump-Russia case.

  • It's a coincidence that Mueller reports to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein who appointed him.

  • It's a coincidence that both Rosenstein and James Comey are witnesses in the case, and that Rosenstein recommended to President Trump that Comey be fired.

  • It's just coincidental that all three men were involved in the Russian corruption and bribery case which was kept hidden from Congress.
