Read the statistics from the OP that clearly shows the Libertarians voted for Biden. I am a Christian and I hate no one.

When the Republicans nominated Bush the Eviler in 1988, I could no longer associated with that party. I am proud to say I never voted for anyone named Bush, and never would.

I registered LPUSA between 1988 and 2016. By 2016 the betrayal of the ideals of Rothbard, Browne and the great thinkers of Libertarianism was overwhelming. Chomsky and his followers had infected the party and turned it into a socialist joke. So I went back to the Republicans.

I'm not happy with Republicans, but I like DeSantis. Trump has lost me due to his attacks on DeSantis, he clearly cares more about his own ego than the good of the nation.

we will always be a two party system. libertarian minded individuals are always better served running in the GOP.

Ron Paul did more for libertarianism than Harry Browne ever did IMO.

I respect DeSantis for his behavior during COVID - he has my attention and respect - as every other politicians was using this hysteria to usher in authoritarianism, he went the opposite way.

In some states, yes!

That is left up to the rules of registration in each state.

Each state has it's own rules for placing the name of a party on the ballot other than Democratic, Republican, or Independent.

Libertarians are really just Republicans that are ashamed to call themselves Republicans.

And besides that, Libertarians want government in their lives like everybody else- THEY JUST WANT TO BE THE ONES TO SAY WHERE!

The Democrats could care less if they run as Libertarians- in fact we encourage them to run as 3rd party Libertarians.

It is the Republicans that hate them, because they do not want them running as a 3rd party stealing all of their votes, and causing them to lose elections.

So all they do by supporting LIBERTARIANS is spin their wheels, waste their money, waste their time, run their mouths, and become hopeless anarchists and trolls like DumberThanABoxOfRocks!

Jorgensen and Gary Johnson ran on the Libertarian ticket, not as "3rd party independents." There is no such thing as a third party independent. You are an independent (no party label) or 3rd party (all parties except D and R). Some run on a third party label named "Independent", but they are not independents.

Bernie Sanders ran as a Democrat because third parties and independents almost never win.

There is another purpose. A third party has to have a certain percentage of the general election vote for its candidates to qualify for the ballot in the next general election. Otherwise, they have to do the petition process again.

Also, the more votes a 3rd party receives the more likely the Dems and Reps will be to adopt some of that party's platform in order to attract their supporters.

Yes, exactly.

Here in Texas, there are a lot of so-called Libertarians, so we always see Libertarian on the Ballet.

But a lot of other states will just list them as Independents.

You are right, as I should have said that it depends on the state and how many people signed onto the petition to run as a libertarian, so that it can be listed on the Ballot Sheet!
