Are Mormons Christian?

All Eastern Churches, the Catholic Church and some Protestant ones like Anglicans, Lutherans and Calvinists, not forgetting Methodists along with Anglicans believe in the Nicene Creed.

thank you for providing our daily dose of irrelevance.......

“Are Mormons Christian?” Since the 1820s, when Joseph Smith founded the religious movement, evangelicals and other orthodox Christians have answered with a resounding “no.”

What do the board christians say?

Same way Muslims are Jews/Christians, or Roman Catholics Jews, I suppose. Everything starts somewhere and complicated relationships don't fit neat patterns! Are any American fundamentalists Christians? I was not brought up to think so.

Denominations that don't use the Nicene creed object to the word "Catholic" with a capital C.

The word catholic literally means "universal," as in "the universal church."

It originally was applied to all Christians because we are all part of the universal church in the way that we are all members of the Body of Christ.

What other denominations have their entire own new book of the Bible?

does that negate a belief in the saving grace of Jesus Christ?.......adding a book, adding a chapter, adding a doctrine, what's the difference......... we'll have to chuck all millennialists, Catholics, 7th Day Adventists and the UCC.....

"We" aren't the ones who will be doing the chucking....

and yet, that's exactly what you are doing.......I haven't seen God posting........

I have chucked anybody. You declared them meeting a biblical "test". I simply pointed out that there is also a biblical test they failed. Treating The Book of Mormon as a sacred text cannot be reconciled with Revelation 22:18.

I really don't give a damn. Both of their theologies are fairytales. Two sides of the same coin.

sounds like you just added something to the prophecy.......

No.. I am not talking about reciting it.. Many Protestant Churches don't adhere to it at all.

Damned heretics!

That being said, aside from Anglicans, I don't make any distinctions between the various protestant groups. A Mormon is as good as a Methodist, a Lutheran, or a Jehovah's Witness.

Kudzu...would you do me a favor and explain (using other words) what you mean by "...believe in the... ."

That expression..."believe in"...is used in so many different ways...I'm just trying to figure out what different people mean with it in various contexts.

Thank you.

Let's adhere to it or use it .. or profess it..

Did they remove them or did the Catholics add them?

They were formally placed in the Bible canon at Nicea. We didn't "add" them anymore than we added the Gospel accounts or Acts. Revelations was probably the most controversial entry, and remains so to this day.

I am an Episcopalian.. My husband is Methodist.. I don't have any issues with Mormons.
