Yes they are socialism. So what? If I had invested every dollar stolen from me for SS and that other shit I'd be retired by now but as it is I intended to get as much of money back as possible. Fuck that

I didn't say I was doing poorly in fact I'm doing pretty well but that money stolen from me would have been all the more and I would be in even better shape than I am now.

But it wasn't stolen from you. It was assessed by legally elected legislators, signed by a legally elected president [FDR, probably the best we've ever had], and found constitutional by the Supreme Court of the United States.
Try to find a nation that doesn't assess legal taxes of multiple types on you, but that may require a functional spaceship.
