Are we JPP contributors a microcosm of America?

No what we need is common fucking sense which is a swear world to the fucking retarded leftist cunts in this country.

What you propose is totalitarianism--what one thinks as common sense means forcing others to give up freedom and conform to government mandates.

Like wearing masks and social distancing and vaccines?

Or traffic laws, health requirements for food and restaurants, vaccines for polio and other diseases largely wiped out, child protection laws?

We have to distinguish between laws made to benefit public safety and imposing our desired behavior on other because of our intolerance. Whether those laws protecting our health and safety are effective is a separate question.

Not the same at all and it's an overall bad argument
Driving Is a privilege and the rules apply to drivers not everyone on the planet. Food safety applies to those who open a restaurant not everyone on the planet. The polio vaccine actually stops people from getting polio not so with the covid vaccine. You really need a better argument.

The way covid was managed was horrific. It destroyed peoples livelihood and scared the shit out of people even though the recovery rate is 98%. Public safety was a bullshit argument to impose the real totalitarian measures.

No rules are made for the planet but by each individual nation or local jurisdiction. Food safety involves all those who buy food or eat at restaurants. I guess I believed President Trump about the effectiveness of the vaccine.

However, I agree it is a poor comparison. Those items I called totalitarian were proposals by Yukuda to punish people for their thoughts.

My examples are attempts by government to protect health and safety--a legitimate function of government even if administered poorly.

Attempting to punish thought is much more totalitarian than regulating behavior.

This is a far-right board. There is a majority far rightys who are insulting rude and have no clue what is true. They only read far-right crap and immediately make a thread out of it. Then follow up with posts of vulgar insults.

Don't you love redistribution of income?
If we add up all the QE over the past 13 years it has to be close to $30 trillion. That's $2.3 trillion a year of welfare for multimillionaires and billionaires. All that monopoly money was created out of thin air but in that time 1/2 of millennials and 3/4 of zoomers have been kicked out of the middle class and can't afford to buy a house. The redistribution of wealth upward to the top 1% has been going on for way too long.

What data are you using showing people were kicked out of the middle class? Those leaving the middle class were more likely to have moved up in income rather than down.

"An annual report from the Census Bureau shows median household income jumped 6.8% in 2019, to $68,700. That's the highest since the government started keeping track in 1967.

The poverty rate declined to 10.5% — the lowest since records began in 1959."

Median means the top 10% doubled their money, the next 10% did well for themselves, and the bottom 80% had to downsize.

Median means each quintile increased its income. No income group downsized. The median income would not have increased unless the bottom 50% gained. If the top 50% quadrupled its income the median income does not change unless the bottom 50% also increased.

How did you measure what class people were in?

My kid is going to college right now (locally) and has no end of fun being the rock in the middle of the stream in his more Leftist professor's classes. I've already told him I'll happily front the money to sue the shit out of them for not being fair in grading. So far (two years in) that's been sufficient to keep them in line. But there's still hope one of the more radical ones will jack his grade and I'll get to legally ass rape them in court...
