Sadly a good number of the MAGAT fundies/evangelists ARE this way. But there are still plenty of traditional Xtians who are kind and giving and who keep their noses out of politics and govt.

That question was meant as a scold or jab, not as a serious question, but thanks for answering it seriously. Your path is similar to mine. My own beliefs are much closer to your first paragraph than they are to the religion (Xtian) I grew up with.
