and it is absurd to claim (if true) that this ruined the auto industry. such a claim is so ignorant i'm surprised even you would make it. the research i've done on electric cars shows that electric cars are not the pipe dream you make them out to be. what resources would be used to power cars if all cars were electric dune? our infrastructure at this time is no where near ready to handle such a load on the national circuits.

As to infrastructure, as usual, you have no idea what you are talking about. Cars are mostly charged overnight, when demand is lowest. The existing infrastructure is more than sufficient, in fact, the grid becomes smarter for every electric car connected, and the utilities greatly benefit from a more balanced load, as well as increased sales. I don't get why liberals think this is unrealistic, much less, something to make fun of Bachmann over. I believe it is totally possible to bring gas back below $2 a gallon, and I don't think it would take 4 years. Furthermore, I think the liberal response is revealing of just how little confidence liberals have in America. We certainly didn't get to the moon with attitudes like this.. Imagine if Kennedy had been laughed off the stage when he called for a mission to put man on the moon? Can't you just hear these same kind of liberals... Oh, that's not possible... we could never do that... he's batshit crazy! But Americans believed we could do it, and we did. The same is true with $2 gas...if we believe it's possible, and embark on the mission in a serious manner, we can certainly do it. There is absolutely NO reason to think we can't... hell, the Saudi's have 38 cent gas!

i didn't change the topic at all. why is it you're lying that you said EXISTING infrastructure could handle it? you claimed i didn't know what i was talking about and then stated that existing infrastructure could handle all the cars, namely because they are plugged in at night. then you later recanted. i don't think you even realized your contradiction because you have no clue what you're talking about. you're just spitting out nonsense.

The thread topic is Bachmann's promise of $2 gas, and how libtards think it's a laughable objective. That has nothing to do with electric cars. When we have refined electric cars to the point of efficiency and operation, as to render gas-powered vehicles obsolete, they will naturally take their place as the preferred mode of transportation... why people on the left can't understand this, is beyond me. That's just how it works in life, we invent things... work out all the kinks... perfect them, make them better... and eventually, they are a better value to a consumer, and viola... we have and drive electric cars! You can't really expedite the process, it will (or won't) work in its own time. Some examples of things that didn't work in transportation, are the dirigible and steam powered cars. If electric cars are to be the way of the future, they will have to become competitively efficient and equivalent in value to gasoline engines or diesel engines... the same applies to solar... it has to compete on the same level, or the consumer will not support it.
