Barr’s Hatchet Job

"But it is Christopher Steele who is the particular bête noire of Trump followers and they blame his report for starting the FBI investigation into Russian interference.

The House Intelligence Committee, then under Republican control, decided however that it was the Papadopoulous information which was the trigger. The same conclusion was separately drawn by the staff of the then Republican chair of the committee, Devin Nunes.

Trump loyalist Nunes, who his hometown newspaper in California has called “Trump’s stooge”, had to step down at one stage over allegations that he was colluding with the White House during the House investigation. He had, in the past, tried to carry out his own “Barr-Lite” version of investigating the investigators."

"Trump's Stooge." - They sure nailed that one.

"One British official with knowledge of Barr’s wish list presented to London commented that “it is like nothing we have come across before, they are basically asking, in quite robust terms, for help in doing a hatchet job on their own intelligence services”.

Gee, a leftist lunatic Euro-weenie smears a legitimate investigation into leftist corruption. I'm shocked, SHOCKED I TELL YA.

Of course, being the partisan hack you are, you run with this without any knowledge of what is actually being investigated, or any of the underlying reasoning. Libs are lazy AF.

ignorance abounds

Seems like they have something mixed up here:

"In August 2016, two staffers from the Nunes-run House Intelligence Committee suddenly turned up from the US at the London office of Steele’s company, Orbis. Not finding him there, they went to the office of his lawyer and demanded to see him.

The timing of the visit was of importance. Mueller and the Senate Intelligence Committee, carrying out separate Russia investigations, were making progress in their attempts to speak to the former MI6 officer. The two men had come with the aim, it was suspected, of intimidating Steele. Nothing discernible appears to have resulted from their trip."

Mueller was not conducting an investigation in August 2016, so something is incorrect there. I also do not believe the Senate Intelligence Committee was carrying out an investigation in August 2016 either. At that time I believe only the FBI was investigating the Russian election interference.

Maybe they just got that date wrong. Perhaps it was August 2017.

Barr/Durham has deposed Steele

That Puttie and Trump are best pals—except when they aren’t lol?

Is there anything that could dissuade from your conspiracy theory?
we better get something soon. Horowitz dropped off the radar
that will at least establish the FISA abuse; I have no idea how long Durham will take to deliver

Hello Darth,

Well, by all appearances the IC did a hatchet job on a duly elected President.

The president was even warned about it by a prominent member of your own party.

The WB is CIA. The hatchet job continues.

NO! I strongly disagree with that.

Only by extraneous unsupported appearances
does it appear there was ANY 'hatchet job.'

Look. We know why Republicans are suspicious that Democrats might do this. It's because so many Republicans ARE the kind of people who would do this.

The FBI are not Democrats. The FBI is non-partisan.

Trump supporters need to lose this whole notion of: 'Well, if you're not with us they you're against us' mentality.

That's one of the primary things that prevents you guys from seeing things objectively.

Calling it a "hatchet job" or a "conspiracy theory" isn't going to shield anyone from prosecution. It just means that the right will have more headlines and articles to throw in the faces of the left for decades to come.

Well, since it’s being investigated maybe we’ll get to see how ‘extraneous’ things are lol.

Hello ThatOwlWoman,

Just two statements from this article are all you need to dismiss all the Reichwing conspiracy nonsense:

"It may also seem odd that Trump, having repeatedly claimed that the Mueller report was a “complete and total exoneration” of him over Russiagate, is now going to such lengths to try and discredit it."

and

"The attorney general [Barr] is focusing on the theory, aired on far-right conspiracy sites, and raised by Trump and Giuliani, that Ukraine framed Vladimir Putin over the US election in a complex triple-cross operation by impersonating Russian hackers."

That first sentence is the real tell-all that blows the whole Trump-Bubble favored right wing conspiracy theory out of the water. Trump simultaneously claims Mueller Report proves he is innocent and also attacks the Muller Report as being a bogus investigation.

I guess he's got all the bases covered that way. But, of course, no one runner can occupy all the bases at once. If your foot is touching one base it is not possible to stretch out there and put a toe on another base, much less all three. But Trump ignores this and offers some little tidbit for any follower to cling to, assuming, we can only presume, that his followers are so uninformed that they will never realize it is an either/or situation. If you try to have both, they cancel one another out.

Barr Undermined Rule of Law in Blocking Whistleblower Complaint That Implicated Him
https://truthout.org/articles/willi...arred-for-his-misconduct-as-attorney-general/

Barr is the fucking Atty General. He is not the president's lawyer or his private detective. He is supposed to be running the American justice system. He is wandering abroad trying to find evidence of some crimes that are on Daffy's wish list. He is not doing the job he was appointed for. He is not doing the AG job. He is acting as Trump's investigator. We have 19 agencies that actually do that job.
Barr should be removed. We have no AG but instead a Trump operative in a very powerful office.
The American AG is wandering Europe looking for crimes. I guess we have none here.

Yep! Plus he's failed at so many of his extravagant promises, including to "lock her up." So this silliness with Durham is just what you said -- a way to distract and appease the base from yet another abject failure.
