Barr’s Hatchet Job

Hello Darth,

I'll identify some warning alarms that are going off as I read your post.

"got sucked up by Mullet in the Russian sweep" The man's name is Mueller. That you can't even grant a person his own name causes me to wonder what other inaccuracies plague your thinking.

And it was not a 'sweep.' It was an investigation.

"...since Mullet had the ‘Russian blinders’ on..." You have no proof of this. Mueller was highly praised with a strong reputation of impartiality by both parties at the time of his appointment. Republican resentment of his investigation only surfaced after Trump dictated by tweet that Mueller should be ridiculed. At first, Trump claimed he was cooperating fully. Trump didn't 'go-off' on Mueller for the first few weeks. Of course, that was but a ruse and didn't last.

For non-partisan viewers, Mueller conducted a fair and thorough investigation. The only people who don't think so are die-hard Trump fans.

"So Trump politely asked Zelensky to investigate it " (After impolitely cutting off the military aid the country was depending on for it's survival.)

Praise aside, Mullet came off as pretty out of touch with his own investigation during his appearance before Congress.

Objectively, it’s fair to say Mullet was incompetent, at minimum.

Since we are judging people on how well they are regarded, both Barr and Durham are well regarded. So, we’ll see how their investigation goes.

so Durham will demure to Barr because of why?
You do realize this is now a criminal investigation -so are you saying this is just Barr as well?
Barr controls the investigation, he is the one who directs Durham. He is Durham’s boss, just as he was Mueller’s boss.

Mueller ran a tight ship and did a very good job. However, he operated under the concept that a sitting president cannot be indicted by the justice dept. He spent half the report pointing out the many, many activities and connections the Russian had with Trumpies as they interfered bigly in the American election. The last part listed and explained the many incidents of Trump's obstruction. Trump is facing them in the House investigation now. Mueller provided a road map for the House. In the end, Mueller will end up removing a terrible crook.

was Mueller independent? did Barr interfere? no.
why would he interfere with Durham?

"controls" is a misnomer. Durham is an independent United States Attorney. They operate as such.
Barr doesn't "direct" he appoints.

All your opinions.

Mr. Barr is closely managing the Durham investigation, even traveling to Italy to seek help from officials there to run down an unfounded conspiracy that is at the heart of conservatives’ attacks on the Russia investigation — that the Italian government helped set up the Trump campaign adviser who was told in 2016 that the Russians had damaging information that could hurt Clinton’s campaign.

It turns out Mullet was ‘running down an unfounded conspiracy theory’ with Mifsud.

If Barr felt compelled to be present with the witnesses in Italy, it only means he was more ‘hands on’ than Mullet. Mullet turned out to be almost comically ‘hands off’.

It was apparent in his appearance before Congress that Mullet had little, if anything, to do with his[lol?] investigation.

Mr. Barr’s reliance on Mr. Durham, a widely respected and veteran prosecutor who has investigated C.I.A. torture and broken up Mafia rings, could help insulate the attorney general from accusations that he is doing the president’s bidding and putting politics above justice.

i think Barr was there as the head of DOJ ( Atty general).
that has more clout with foreign governments then just Durham, and insures that Italy did the thing with Msfud

Durham has already investigated the spooks.

No wonder the Deep State fans hate him.

Of course, if foreign intelligence services were involved in setting up Papadopoulos they aren’t going to want to talk about it.

So yeah, have a Cabinet member tag along. Makes perfect sense.

Hello evince,

Fox has brainwashed a segment of our society to believe lies over facts

it needs to die

No.

We need a smarter populace that won't fall for lies.

We need to maintain freedom of speech or we're toast.

Fox needs to die because everybody is too smart for their nonsense and it become irrelevant. Nobody pays any attention to it. That's the only way it should die.

In the mean time we need Fox around so we know what not to listen to, so we know what form the propaganda comes in.

If it wasn't Fox it would be something else. Breitbart.

To try to kill Fox would be like whackamole.

Going after Fox is like treating the symptom but not curing the disease.

Hello Tranquillus in Exile,

More from the article.

< Every aspect of the Crowdstrike conspiracy tale has been disproved. But this has not stopped Trump from demanding that Zelensky looks into it, albeit in a somewhat incoherent manner, in the now infamous 25 July call to the Ukrainian president ...

“I would like you to find out what happened with this whole situation with Ukraine, they say Crowdstrike. I guess you have one of your wealthy people. The server, they say Ukraine has it,” said the US president, according to notes of the conversation, released by the White House. In another part of the call Trump tells Zelensky “they say” Mueller “started with Ukraine”. >

Er, who "they"?

Extreme right wing conspiracy theorists.

Then we’d all think alike lol?

Hello Darth,

Then we’d all think alike lol?

I hope not. I cherish Diversity. That's why my user title says "Diversity Makes Greatness."

I mean that. We need all voices. Right now, we need Fox News just as it is, propaganda and all.

What I envision is that the demand which supports Fox News becomes diminished over time because people become better educated and dismiss such garbage out of hand, making it so unpopular that a more honest form of conservative slant replaces it.

We will always have conservative and liberal voices. But those viewpoints change over time. I'd like to see that change be a positive one for both sides. Better education will help us get there.
