Best Album of The 80's

OH yeah, Poison. What did they sing Cypress, I forget. There was one big song in particular, wasn't there?

LOL, yeah remember those bozos?

Honestly, I puked whenever they came on MTV. I never bought any of theri crap.

They had this one lame song, "Unskinny Bop" that used to come on MTV all the time.

Do you ever watch that VH1 show, who's theme is "Where are they Now?", and they look at what happened to old bands? Anyway, if you know the show, the did an episode on Poison one time. I was glued to the tv, cause I hated that band. lol. And the guitarist, who was a total cheese-meister turned out to be this fat, washed up loser who lost all his money, his mansion, and his cars. And was living in some cheap one bedroom apartment.

It was great. I mean, I don't wish ill on the guy. But, its just a classic case of the stupid rock star who can't manage his money.

It's "talk dirty to me" that I was thinking of, I googled it.

Yep, i know that show, but I missed the Poison episode.

Oh yeah! Talk dirty to me....Thanks for the trip down "memory lane".

Excuse me while I go puke now....

Stop it you're killing me. That stuff was teh sucks.

Hey remember Nelson and Winger?

I ain't gonna lie seeing that kind of stuff makes me laugh.

Please. Nelson and Winger? I had forgotten about those bozos. And I certainly didn't need to be reminded of them.

Yep, those hair bands are what killed Metal and MTV.

"Never say goodbye, brings back big memories for instance."

Gotta say... I like that one too.

Metallica should probably be added to the discussion...

They really did suck, I have to admit that. I don't mind a "power ballad" like Cypress and IHG do, but poison was beyond the pale.

but poison was beyond the pale.

This is my nomination for jpp.com Understatement of the Year.

A Power Ballad gal, huh? Well, I can forgive you for that. I really don't mind Bon Jovi, or Tesla that much. They could do a decent power ballad. It's the other hair bands, that made me (a guitarist), want to give it up ;)

I can deal with Robert Palmer. He was pop-schlock. Rock candy has it's virtues.

Late 80's hair bands, I can deal with them, despite the fact that I hate their music.

When bands like Poison are called "Metal", I want to commit murder.

Cypress actually sings 'fallen angel' each night as he goes to bed. His over the top criticism of Poison is really just an attempt to mask his true love for their work.

:D

I have these Nominees: (Many of which I know I'll be attacked for admitting to)

Prince - Purple Rain
The Cure - Disintegration
The Cure - Pornography
Metallica - Master Of Puppets
Metallica - ...And Justice For All
The Beastie Boys - License To Ill
Faith No More - The Real Thing
Depeche Mode - Music For the Masses
Lenny Kravitz - Let Love Rule
Nine Inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine
Tom Petty - Full Moon Fever
Enya - Watermark
Public Enemy - It Takes a Nation of Millions To Hold Us Back
Faith - George Micheal
The Sisters Of Mercy - Floodland
Peter Gabriel - So
Run D.M.C. - Run D.M.C
Slayer - South of Heaven
Tears For Fears - Songs From the Big Chair
Eurhythmics - Sweet Dreams
The Police - Synchronicity
Men At Work - Business As Usual

I'm sure I missed a lot. Keep in mind, "The 80's" had far more good songs than good albums.

Trick question, there weren't any good albums in the eighties.

I've never even heard of that song. I'm hard pressed to even name more than one poison song.

However, the fact that you even knew what this song was, speaks volumes about your association with Poison's music ;)

You know which metal hair-band sounds really dated and cheesy today?

POISON. They sound horrible today. Cheese factor to "eleven". And back in the 80s everyone thought they were the bomb. ....Except me: I was into Iron Maiden and Motorhead ;)
We called them "Posin'" They were some serious posers and they sounded teh suxor even back then.

Those who think Fallen Angel is the song of the Posin' are really closet Slaughter fans...
