Are you for real? The prohibition first appears in Leviticus, one of the oldest books of the Bible. The idea that the early Christian Church of 1700+ years ago foresaw the development of the issue of homosexuality and took steps to prevent it is one of the most ludicrous, absolutely brain dead, not to mention just a bit on the paranoid side, arguments I have ever seen.

So you are an atheist. And therefore anyone who has the unmitigated gall to mention religious beliefs are "out of line." Fuck that. That , too, is the very definition of totalitarianism. And I have been in theology classes in which evolution and other scientific ideas are mentioned. No, they do NOT get the same treatment - not even close. And if one did, I would say the same thing about them - especially in an institution of learning, where free exchange of ideas is supposed to be the ideal. Unlike you totalitarians, most people of faith are quite willing to discuss modern ideas and how they fit into our beliefs. Although the hypothetical claim "I think that Muslims are all stupid" is disrespectful, and should be addressed as such. Saying Christianity is wrong - not so much - its simply an opinion. One which you obviously hold to. Am I supposed to be offended by that statement as a Christian? There are a whole lot of people who do not believe in Christianity. And there are a whole lot of people who believe homosexuality is wrong. But somehow it is OK to repress expression of the former, but not the latter? That is what is wrong with your type. You are so egocentrically convinced you hold the absolute truth, you have no problems telling others to STFU if they don't agree.

Exactly right. They were a vulnerable people in a hostile land, so they needed "bodies" to fight wars, and to work, and harvest. They could ill afford to lose precious potential human beings to "Onanism"( masturbation) or "homosexuality" (producing no offspring). It was self preservation, written into law.

No one is outlawing beliefs, or the ability to express them. It's a public school, where there is an order of priorities. One of the top priorities any school should have is protecting it's students.

You may not like it, but I doubt homosexuals see that much difference between someone saying homosexuality is wrong, to saying it's condemned, to saying that God hates homosexuals (and people who say the latter hide behind the same religious clauses and "expression of belief" rationales that you do).

From what I have learned in my limited time on these forums, when one resorts to pointing out spelling errors, one's argument has been lost.

Religion constitutes an important part of many peoples lives so it should be taught ... But NOT as christianity or judaism or islam and certainly not as sunni, shi'ite, catholic or baptist.
All children should receive the same education, one that fits them for later life, at no cost to parents.
At present some children are taught to be the nation's elite while others are taught to be down trodden. We can never progress as free men until society is fair and equal.
